We lift ### up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, grieving over the torment she is enduring at the hands of her former boyfriend. The Word of God is clear: *"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble"* (Psalm 9:9). We declare that ### is not forgotten, nor is she abandoned—God sees her suffering, hears her cries, and will arise to defend her.
First, we must address the sinful nature of this relationship that has caused such harm. The Bible warns us, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). This man, bound by addiction and violence, was never a godly partner for ###. We rebuke the lies that may have kept her tied to him—whether fear, loneliness, or misplaced affection—and we pray that the Holy Spirit would sever any ungodly soul ties in Jesus’ name. *"For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery"* (Galatians 5:1).
We also rebuke the spirit of addiction that has ensnared this man, for *"the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy"* (John 10:10). Addiction is a tool of the enemy to destroy lives, and we command it to lose its grip on him in the mighty name of Jesus. Yet we also warn that true repentance and transformation can only come through surrender to Christ. If he does not turn from his sin, his ways will lead to destruction (Proverbs 14:12).
For ###, we pray a hedge of protection around her—body, mind, and spirit. *"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them"* (Psalm 34:7). We ask You, Father, to dispatch Your angels to guard her, to confuse the plans of the wicked, and to make her path secure. If she is in physical danger, we pray for divine intervention—whether through authorities, safe housing, or miraculous deliverance. *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble"* (Psalm 46:1).
We also pray for healing over the trauma she has endured. Bullying and abuse leave deep wounds, but Jesus is the Balm of Gilead. *"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3). Surround her with godly believers who can speak truth, love, and restoration into her life. May she find her identity in Christ, not in the lies of her abuser or the shame of past choices. *"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come"* (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Lastly, we address the foundation of our prayers. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ—the Way, the Truth, and the Life—that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If ### does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw her to Him. May she confess with her mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in her heart that God raised Him from the dead, for *"with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved"* (Romans 10:9-10).
Heavenly Father, we stand in the gap for ###. Break the chains of fear, silence the voice of her oppressor, and let her walk in the freedom and safety You alone provide. Expose any hidden dangers, frustrate the plans of the wicked, and let justice roll down like waters (Amos 5:24). We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen her faith, surround her with Your peace, and let her see Your hand moving on her behalf. In the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
