Protection

Your request for extra strong protection and breakthrough has been heard, and it is good to bring this need directly to the Lord together with others who also need His help.

Scripture gives a picture of what that protection looks like. It says the name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run into it and are safe. In ancient times a strong tower was built into the city walls as a place of defense in war, the final place of refuge when danger came. That is what the Lord Himself is for His people. He is not just a help at a distance, He is the place we run into, the dwelling place where we can continually abide and be preserved in trouble.

He is also able to bring breakthrough when there seems to be no way forward. With a strong hand He brought His people out of Egypt and through the sea, making a way where there was no way. Many times He allows us to face impossible situations so that He can show His power to deliver. What looks closed to us is not closed to Him, and His deliverance leads to praise, just as those who were delivered broke out in singing about His power and glory.

The Lord also speaks again and again to His people to be strong and very courageous, not to be afraid or dismayed, because He will be with us and He will do the work. We often measure a need or a battle by our own ability and feel we are not able, but the call is to trust His presence rather than our own strength. Scripture says the eyes of the Lord move throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. He is looking for hearts that trust Him completely, so He can invest His strength there. Our confidence is not to be in wealth, in our own wisdom, or in our own resources, which can become a high wall only in our imagination, but in the Lord who is our true strong city and hiding place.

Praying for you and for all in need, that the Lord will be your strong tower and your continual dwelling place, that you will run into His name and be safe, that His strong hand will make a way and bring breakthrough where it is needed, and that you will know His presence with you so you can be strong and courageous in Him. May He guard you, keep you, and show Himself strong on your behalf as you put your trust fully in Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
