Beloved of All
Your cry of not knowing what to do but keeping your eyes on the Lord is exactly where God wants you. That is a biblical posture, and it is the safest place to be when the situation feels beyond your control and you are asking for protection and breakthrough.
Like David in the Psalms, many prayers begin with uncertainty and a deep sense of need, and through bringing that need honestly to God they end with confidence. David would pour out his fear and confusion, and as he prayed he was lifted into strength and trust because God heard him. You can bring every detail of this situation with the people on your heart to Him in the same way, trusting that He will sustain and preserve you as you wait on Him.
Scripture teaches that by His divine power God has already given us everything we need for life and godliness. We do not have that strength in ourselves, but we become partakers of His divine nature as His Word takes root in us. As that seed grows, it forms His character in us, love, joy, peace, patience and the other fruit of the Spirit, and conforms us to the image of Christ. In a time when you need protection and direction, stay rooted in His Word and let Him shape your heart and mind.
Part of that protection is learning to wait for the guidance of the Holy Spirit rather than moving impulsively or seeking answers from other sources. The early church looked to the Holy Spirit for direction in all things and waited to know the mind of the Lord. God has established a good and divine order for our lives, and He is concerned that we walk in it. When we seek Him first, He directs our steps and guards us from wrong paths. Do not look to empty or deceptive ways for guidance, but ask Him plainly for wisdom and for His will to be clear.
God also has a divine ideal for our relationships. From the beginning His intent was that a man and woman become one in a lifelong covenant, a completion and oneness brought together in love. That remains His perfect design. Because of the hardness of human hearts, many do not live up to that ideal, and under the law God permitted a provision for divorce as an accommodation to human weakness. That permission was never His best, but His grace is real, and failure to reach His ideal is not beyond forgiveness. Whatever is involved in the situation you mentioned, the best prayer is not simply for God to bless what we want, but for Him to bring everything into line with His ideal and His will, and to give grace and restoration where there has been failure.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our only Savior, we ask for Your strong protection over this dear one and over all who are in need. Surround them as a shield, provide what pertains to life and godliness through Your divine power, and cause Your peace to guard their hearts. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You. Grant clear guidance by Your Holy Spirit, break through where there has been bondage or confusion, and work powerfully in the situation that is so heavy on this heart. Lead toward what honors You and aligns with Your good design, and grant mercy, truth and strength for each next step. We trust You to hear and to answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
