Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer has been heard, and the burden you carry for your children and your home is seen by the Lord who hears every cry and sees every tear. He invites you to come to Him as Father, not in a distant or ritual way, but in a close and living relationship where you can rest in His love and care.
Scripture teaches that your relationship with God is the center upon which every other relationship turns. When that vertical relationship is right, the horizontal relationships of family and daily life begin to come into balance. When it is out of order, everything else feels out of balance as well. You cannot fix every family struggle by working only on the struggles themselves. You come back to the Lord, you keep your heart close to Jesus in love and trust, and He brings order, wisdom and peace into the other areas. He does not want a legal or ritual connection with you. He wants you to know how deeply you are loved and to love Him in return. Out of that love, He gives wisdom, grace, strength and courage for the season you are walking through.
You have asked for the covering of the blood of Jesus over you, your children and your home, and that is right to ask. The Lord is your refuge and your protector. He promises to command His angels concerning you and to cover you under the shadow of His wings. You can ask Him to keep watch over every door and window, every room and corner, and to fill your home with His presence and with the peace that passes all understanding. You can trust Him to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus and to give rest that is deep and undisturbed.
For your son, you can bring every need to Jesus who has compassion for those who suffer. He has shown His power to heal and to calm troubled hearts. Pray that the Lord will quiet his thoughts and emotions, calm his body and mind, and free him from fear and torment. Ask God to give him a gentle and gracious spirit, to help him use clear and functional language to express what he feels and needs, and to fill even his sleep with comfort and joy. The Lord who healed the little daughter of Jairus and the woman who touched Him in faith is still the same. He is near to your son and able to bring peace where there has been anxiety, confusion and frustration.
For your younger daughter, pray that the Lord will strengthen her body, guard her mind, and bless her studies and work with His favor. Ask Him to surround her with uplifting and godly friendships that encourage her faith, and in His perfect timing to bring a godly husband who will honor Him. Pray that she will know she is deeply loved and protected, and that the hurt she feels as she watches her older sister change will be comforted by the Father who never changes. He can keep her steady and at peace even when family life is painful.
For your older daughter, your concern is right and loving. God has revealed that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that living together and sharing the intimacies of marriage outside of that covenant is not His design and does not lead to blessing. It often brings exhaustion, confusion, loss of self worth, isolation and division, as you have seen. Scripture shows that when relationships are formed outside of God's pattern, jealousy, rivalry and sorrow follow. Do not ask God to bless that arrangement. Instead ask Him to open her eyes to truth, to break every unhealthy tie that binds her, and to free her from any sense of obligation or control that keeps her trapped. Pray that any manipulation, deceit and pressure that seeks to divide her from family and from the purpose God has for her would be frustrated and lose its hold. Pray that God would restore her wisdom, her love for Him, her gratitude for family, and her sense of worth in Christ, and that He would give her courage to step away from what is harming her and return to safety and faith. Pray for her future too, that the Lord would in time lead her to a godly spouse within His will, not to a bond that drains and confuses her.
For your family as a whole, remember that God knows how to deliver those who trust Him and to bring light into dark places. Just as He restored what was broken between Jacob and Esau, He can restore what has been broken in your home. Sin always separates, but when hearts turn back to the Lord, fellowship is renewed. Ask Him to drive out all spiritual darkness, to bind every influence of fear, confusion, rebellion and division, and to declare with you that no weapon formed against you and your household shall prosper. Ask Him to restore love, unity, respect and even laughter to your gatherings, and to make your family bond stronger than before because it is rooted in His love and grace. Ask Him also to provide for your finances so you may continue to help others as He leads.
Continue to seek Him first, to rest in that intimate relationship with your Father through Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation. As you do, He will shape every other relationship and fill your home with His glory.
