Beloved of All
Your heartfelt cry has been heard, and the Lord sees your tears and knows the weight you carry for your children and your home. Thank you for pouring out your heart so honestly before Jesus. He is your Father, and you can come to Him with confidence, not through ritual or formula, but through a living, loving relationship as His child. Through Jesus you have been adopted into His family, and you can call Him Father and rest in His care.
God desires that your relationship with Him be first and primary. Scripture shows that the commandments concerning God come first because when that relationship is right, other relationships begin to come into balance. You can trace many struggles in family life back to whether hearts are truly centered on Him. My prayer is that you would be renewed in that first love for Jesus, that intimate fellowship where you are caught up in His love for you and your love for Him, and that out of that place He would give you wisdom, grace, strength and courage for this season.
I join you in asking for the covering of the blood of Jesus Christ over you and your children, over your home, every room, door and window, and over your minds and hearts. May the Lord command His angels to guard you and give you deep, peaceful rest under the shadow of His wings, with His peace that surpasses all understanding guarding your hearts. May His light shine into every dark place and drive out fear, confusion, chaos and every work of darkness, for no weapon formed against those who are in Christ shall prosper.
For your son, I pray for the calm and gentle mind of Christ. May the Lord quiet his thoughts and emotions, calm his heart, and help him to use clear, functional language to express his needs, wants and feelings. Ask God to lift frustration, anxiety, confusion and torment, and to replace screaming, jumping and distress with graciousness and peace. The Lord is merciful and near to those who struggle, and He can grant restful sleep and joyful days filled with His comfort and presence.
For your younger daughter, I pray for the Lord's healing and protection over her body and mind, for His favor on her health, her schooling and her future work, and for uplifting, godly friendships. In His perfect timing, may He provide a godly spouse for her within the covenant of marriage as He has designed it. I pray He would comfort her as she watches her older sister change, and keep her confident in His love and safe from all harm.
For your older daughter, I pray with deep love and concern that God would open her eyes to truth and deliver her from every deceptive influence. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage in God's eyes. God ordained marriage to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and He intends sexual union and shared home life to belong within that covenant alone. Any arrangement outside of that design does not carry His blessing, and Scripture shows that unions outside His pattern bring jealousy, rivalry, exhaustion, isolation and loss of self worth rather than peace. It is understandable that you grieve how this relationship has brought division, control, financial pressure and conditions placed on family time. Those patterns reflect manipulation and not love.
I do not ask God to bless that living arrangement, but to set your daughter free from it. May He break every ungodly tie that binds her, release her from feelings of obligation, worthlessness and being trapped, and restore her wisdom, her love for her family and her sense of worth in Christ. May He frustrate every scheme that seeks to divide and isolate, and give her courage to step away from what is harming her and to return to safety, to home and to fellowship with the Lord. Pray for her with love that seeks to build up and bless, not with hatred, as we are called to love even those who cause pain, while still holding firm to truth and healthy boundaries. Remember how God called Jacob to return to the land of his fathers and to his family with the promise, I will be with you. God places high value on honoring parents and on family bonds, and He is able to restore what has been strained.
It is hard to live in a polluted culture and not be touched by it. Like Lot's family, who were affected by the moral corruption around them, our families can be influenced when we linger near what is unhealthy. That is why it is so important to guard the home and to seek the Lord's help to walk in purity and truth.
For you, I pray that the Lord would fill you with His Spirit, that you would know His mercy and power, and that your home would be filled with His glory, love, unity and laughter again. May He provide for your finances so you can help others, and may He bring a year of restoration, breakthrough and unexpected mercies. Continue to pray for godly spouses for both of your daughters, trusting God's timing and His good design for marriage.
May the Lord keep you and your children safe, restore your family bond stronger than before, rooted in His love and grace, and keep your hearts close to Him. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
