Your prayer comes before the Lord with a mother's love, with tears He sees and cries He hears, and with faith in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. God knows the weight you carry for your children and for your home, and He invites you to bring every fear and every need to Him.
I join you in asking for His covering over you and your children, over your home, your hearts and your minds. Scripture promises that He gives His angels charge over His people and that His peace, which goes beyond all understanding, can guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. I pray that He will surround every room, every door and every window of your home with His presence, that His light will shine into every dark place and drive out fear, confusion and chaos, and that you will rest under the shadow of His wings, free from torment.
For your son, I pray with you for calm in his thoughts and emotions, for healing and for peace in place of anxiety, frustration and distress. The Lord is able to heal both body and spirit, and to give comfort and joy even in rest. I pray that God will give him a gentle and gracious spirit, and help him to use clear language to express his needs and feelings, and that He will quiet painful memories and bring steady, peaceful rest. May the mind of Christ be formed in him and may he know he is safe and loved.
For your younger daughter, I pray for protection over her body and mind, for strength, for health, and for favor in her studies and work. I pray that God will surround her with wholesome, godly friendships and, in His perfect timing, bring a godly spouse who walks faithfully with Him. I pray that she will know deep peace and confidence in the Lord's love, and that the hurt she feels when she sees change in her older sister will be met with comfort from Him.
For your older daughter, I pray especially for deliverance and clarity. Scripture shows how powerful ungodly influence can be. One example is a mother who led her son into evil, and the harm that came through that influence. Another is the story of a young man whose soul clung to Jacob's daughter. He delighted in her and spoke kindly to her, but what he had done was described as a folly that ought not to be done. God does not treat what is sacred lightly, and He does not bless what is outside His design. Marriage in Scripture is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and living together and sharing the intimacies of marriage belong within that covenant alone. To treat a living arrangement outside marriage as if it were marriage is not God's path, and it often brings exhaustion, loss of self worth, isolation and division rather than love and security.
There is also the sad story of a wife who, feeling unloved, hoped that bearing a son would finally earn her husband's love. She named her first son to say, look, a son, hoping now her husband would love her, and her second son to say, God has heard that I am unloved. Her reaching for love in that way shows how empty it is to seek worth and love from a relationship that cannot give what only God can give. Your daughter's worth is not found in being needed, in paying for another's habits, or in meeting conditions set by others to earn time with family. Her worth is found in Christ, who calls us to kiss the Son and trust in Him, and promises blessing to all who take refuge in Him.
I pray that God will open her eyes to truth, break every ungodly tie that binds her, and free her from any sense of obligation or worthlessness that keeps her trapped. I pray that He will frustrate every plan that seeks to divide her from family, to isolate her, to manipulate or control her, and to keep her on a dark path away from the purpose God has for her. I pray that she will no longer desire to remain in a relationship that is outside His will, but will find courage to walk away and return to safety, to faith, to home and to peace. I do not ask God to bless that ungodly arrangement, but to deliver her from it, to restore her wisdom, to renew her gratitude for the family God has given her, and to restore her self worth in Him. And I pray that in His time He will provide a godly spouse for each of your daughters according to His will.
For you, I pray that God will fill you with wisdom, grace, strength and courage for this season. Your children are facing strong and ungodly pressures, and they need more than good advice. They need the power of the Holy Spirit at work in their lives. For their sake, keep drawing near to God yourself and keep setting a steady, faithful example of trusting Him. He knows how to deliver the righteous even when they feel vexed by what surrounds them. As He delivered Lot before judgment fell on the city, He knows how to make a way of escape and protection for those who belong to Him, while reserving the ungodly for His just judgment.
I pray that no weapon formed against you and your family will prosper, that every spirit of fear, manipulation, confusion, jealousy, hatred, rebellion and division will be bound and defeated by the power of Jesus Christ, and that your home will be filled with His glory, love, unity and joy. I pray that God will bless your finances so you can be a blessing to others, and that He will restore the peace, love and respect you once knew in your family gatherings, making your bond stronger than before and rooted in His love.
May the Lord keep you and your children in His care, calm your hearts, guard your rest, and lead you step by step with His wisdom. I trust Him with you and with each of your children, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
