Your honest cry has been heard and you are not alone in this long and painful season. Two years of continuous hurdles and severe medical challenges for you and your family is a heavy burden, and God knows the hidden fears and the weight you carry, including the fear that unseen spiritual forces are seeking to harm you physically, mentally and financially.
Scripture is clear that our struggle is not only against what we can see, but against spiritual forces of darkness, and it is right to bring that battle to the Lord. He is revealed as your fortress and your healer, and Jesus has shown complete authority in the spiritual realm as well as power to heal sickness and to set people free from evil spirits. That authority still belongs to Him today, and no power of darkness is greater than He is.
At the same time, the Word gives an important warning about focusing only on trying to drive evil away. When an unclean spirit leaves a person, if that life remains empty and is not filled with Christ, His presence and His truth, that emptiness can leave the person more vulnerable than before. Real protection is not just an empty house that has been swept clean, but a life filled with Jesus, with His Word, with prayer, and with fellowship in His family. The safest place is to be filled and to remain in Him daily.
You also asked for healing, and God is indeed the healer. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our sicknesses, and the gospel shows Jesus healing many kinds of diseases and infirmities. Healing is truly from God, whether it comes in a moment or gradually. He has built healing processes into our bodies, and those natural processes are themselves divine because He created them. There are also times when healing comes instantly by His touch, and there are times, as with the apostle Paul and his thorn in the flesh, when God in His wisdom allows a trial to remain and gives sustaining grace instead of immediate removal. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road, but we can trust that God hears every prayer, that He is compassionate, and that He works for our good in every outcome.
It can feel in a long trial as if evil is becoming more entrenched and will triumph, but Scripture assures us there is an end to the reign of evil. God is patient and merciful and long suffering, yet evil does not go on forever unchecked. He sees, He knows, and He will bring judgment on evil and deliver His people. What looks like God not seeing is never true. He does see and He will act in His perfect time.
Part of walking in His protection is learning what it means to fear the Lord, which is to hate evil and love what is good. Evil in the biblical sense is whatever destroys you, your family, or others around you, while good is what builds up and strengthens. We are not to tolerate or flirt with evil, nor are we to seek revenge or return evil for evil. When people intend harm, the call is to commit that matter to the Lord and let Him be your defender. He defends far better than we can defend ourselves. When the prophet said that God creates evil, the word there refers to the judgment God brings upon unrepentant wickedness, not that God creates wickedness itself. He is holy and He judges evil because He loves what is good.
So I will pray for you now that the Lord Himself will be your fortress and cover you and your family. May He guard you physically, mentally and financially, and may He fill your home with His peace and presence so there is no empty place for the enemy to return. May He bring healing according to His perfect will, whether through gradual restoration, through the skill of physicians, or by His direct touch, and may He give you strength and clarity for each day. May He break every assignment of darkness against you, establish you in what is good, and help you to rest in Him rather than in fear. May you know deeply that because God is with you, you are held secure in His hands, and that He will carry you through this season until you see His deliverance.
Continue to seek Him, to hate what harms and to cling to what is good, to fill your heart with Christ and His Word, and to entrust every fear and every need to Him. He is faithful and He will not abandon you.
