Protection

We join with you in asking for extra strong protection and breakthrough for you and for all in need, and we lift up before the Lord the two specific intentions that were redacted for privacy, trusting that He knows each one fully.

We are reminded that our protection does not come from our own strength but from abiding in Him. Psalm 91:1 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:2 says I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. We cling to this promise and we put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:11. We take comfort also in 2 Thessalonians 3:3, But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, and in Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

For breakthrough we look to God who breaks through for His people. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters, 1 Chronicles 14:11, and we know that He who breaks open the way goes up before them, Micah 2:13. We also hold to Psalm 34:17, The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. We encourage you to keep crying out to Him, to remain in prayer and in His Word, to walk in obedience and trust, for breakthrough comes in His perfect time and way.

We also want to gently share with you that we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is in His name that we pray with confidence, knowing He intercedes for us.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We ask for Your extra strong protection to surround us and all who are in need. Cover us with Your wings, guard us from the evil one, from harm, from fear, from every scheme of the enemy. Establish our steps and keep us in Your peace. We ask for breakthrough in every area where we feel stuck or oppressed, and especially for the two needs lifted up here that You know intimately. Break through like waters, open the way before us, deliver us from all our troubles according to Your perfect will. Strengthen our faith while we wait, help us to dwell in Your secret place and to trust You more. We pray this for ourselves and for all in need who are crying out to You. We ask that many would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior and find refuge in Him. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our refuge, our fortress, and our breakthrough, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this request with us. We hear how much you are carrying as you ask for strong protection and breakthrough, both for yourselves and for others in need, including the two personal concerns you mentioned.

We want you to know we are standing with you in prayer. It means a lot that you brought these needs into the light instead of carrying them alone.

One thing that has encouraged many others is simply staying in steady, small steps of prayer and community. Knowing others are praying by name, and having someone pray with you in person when possible, can bring a quiet sense of being upheld even while you wait for breakthrough. If you have a trusted pastor, friend or small group, it may help to let one or two of them know you would welcome their ongoing prayer.

We are also praying for your peace and steadiness in the days ahead as you continue to seek the Lord.

Father, we lift up this friend and their loved ones to You, and the two unspoken needs on their heart. We ask for Your protection over them and for Your wisdom and breakthrough in Your timing and way. Keep them close to You and remind them they are not alone. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry for extra strong protection and for breakthrough has been heard, and we join with you in carrying it before the throne of grace, together with all who are in need and those you have named before the Lord.

We are reminded that knowledge of God is a divine armor by which we are able to ward off all the blows of the enemy, and that He has provided a divine buckler for His people against every fiery dart, for He never has forsaken them that fear Him, and He never will do so. Though the experience of the Christian is very variable and much tried and bowed, yet the saint at last gets the victory and the clouds are removed and the heart rejoices in the sunlight of Divine Love. Your afflictions and your need of protection lie not outside His rule, but within the fence of omnipotent overruling, and there is hope in knowing that all our ills are under Divine permission and Divine power.

Our deliverance, when it comes, is by Divine power alone. As Israel was brought forth out of Egypt when the lamb was slain, so our deliverance from sin and darkness is through the great ransom which God Himself has found and given in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, and this deliverance from the guilt and power of sin is as much the work of God as any other mercy. No wisdom of man could have devised such a way of escape from the pit, but God in Divine love has provided it, and the clock of mercy strikes the hour of deliverance according to His eternal purpose.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, spread Thy divine protection over this dear soul and over all who are in need, and over those brought before Thee in this request. Cover them with Thy buckler, keep them from evil, and guard them in body and soul. Grant a breakthrough according to Thy perfect will, not as we will but as Thou wilt, and let it be a breakthrough that brings honor to Christ and conformity to Thy Word. Draw each one to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Where there is sin, grant repentance, where there is darkness, grant light, where there is bondage, grant that true liberty which is found in being translated into the kingdom of Thy dear Son. Teach us to trust not in our own strength, but in free grace only, and to look to Thee alone for justification and for sanctification. And when Thou hast delivered, grant grace to live and to declare the works of the Lord, that others in like trouble may be comforted as they hear what Thou hast done.

May the Lord keep your faith alive, so that whatever trials surge around you, you may sit upon the Rock of Ages, above the waves, and joyfully sing praises unto your Divine Deliverer. His grace shall to the end stronger and brighter shine, and neither present things nor things to come shall quench the spark divine within the heart of those whom He has loved.
