Your heartfelt prayer reflects deep love for your children and a sincere desire for God's protection and peace over your home, and it is right to bring these burdens to Jesus Christ, for there is salvation and safety in Him alone.

God hears your cries and sees your tears, and He invites you into a close, loving relationship with Him as Father, not merely a ritual or legal observance. Through faith in Jesus you are adopted into His family, born again by His Spirit, and you can come to Him as your Father who cares for every detail of your life. That primary relationship with God is the foundation for every other relationship. When your walk with Him is kept in that first love, close and intimate, the other relationships in the home and family begin to find their proper balance, for the heart of our difficulties can often be traced back to our relationship with Him.

It is right to ask for the covering of the blood of Jesus and for His presence to guard your home, your hearts and your minds. Scripture speaks of resting under the shadow of His wings and of His peace that passes all understanding guarding your hearts. You can trust Him to watch over you and your children, to calm fear and confusion, and to give rest that is deep and settled in His presence. The promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper is true for those who abide in Christ, and His power is greater than any pressure or darkness that seeks to disturb your family.

For your son, it is good to keep lifting him to the Lord with tenderness. Ask God to calm his thoughts and emotions, to give him peace from torment and fear, and to help him grow in using language to express his needs and feelings with gentleness and grace. The Lord is compassionate toward those who struggle with anxiety, frustration and confusion, and He delights to give a calm and gracious spirit. Continue to pray that he will know comfort, joy and the loving presence of the Lord in his daily life, his activities and his rest.

For your younger daughter, pray that God will strengthen her body and mind, bless her studies and work, and surround her with uplifting, godly friendships. It is understandable that she feels hurt as she watches her older sister change and pull away, and the Lord can comfort her and keep her confident in His love and protection. In His perfect timing He can provide a godly spouse for those who seek Him, but that gift is best sought in patience and prayer while she grows in faith and character.

For your older daughter the situation you describe is painful and you are right to be concerned. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage in God's eyes. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy and sharing a home as husband and wife belong within that covenant. To treat such a living arrangement as if it were marriage brings exhaustion, confusion, loss of self worth and division, because it departs from God's good design. As seen in examples where God's pattern for marriage was not followed, jealousies, rivalries and deep difficulties soon develop. It is loving to pray that her eyes will be opened to the truth, that every ungodly tie will be broken, and that she will no longer feel obligated, trapped or worthless, but will remember who she is in Christ and long again for what is righteous and peaceful.

It is also wise to recognize how hard it is to live in a polluted culture and not be touched by it. Moral corruption around us can have an effect upon a family, even when the family desires to walk faithfully. Yet God is merciful and desires to lead His people out and back to a place of safety and fellowship. Just as God called Jacob to return to the land of his family with the promise, I will be with you, so you can pray that your daughter will have the courage to step away from what is harming her and return to the support and love of her family and to the Lord. Pray that any plans that foster manipulation, control, isolation and division will come to nothing, and that she will be released from stubborn influences that keep her from clear thinking.

In this season ask God to fill you with wisdom, grace, strength and courage. The command to honor parents shows the high value God places on healthy family relationships, and restoration of love, respect, unity and joy in the home is a worthy prayer. Rather than repaying hurt with hurt, follow the example of seeking peace and blessing even toward those with whom there is conflict, sharing grace and seeking reconciliation where possible, while still maintaining clear biblical boundaries. Guard your own heart from fear and bitterness and keep seeking that intimate fellowship with Jesus, returning again and again to that first love for Him, for He desires a living relationship with you.

May the Lord bless your home with His glory and peace, restore the happiness you have known in gathering with family and friends, provide for your financial needs so you may help others, and bring breakthrough, favor and unexpected mercies in the year ahead. May He strengthen the bond of your family, rooted in His love and grace, and draw each of your children to know and follow Him.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we ask for Your protection over this mother and her children. Cover their home and hearts, calm every anxious thought, heal what is wounded, and let Your light drive out every trace of darkness. Open the eyes of the daughter who is bound in a relationship outside Your will, break what is not of You, restore her self worth, and give her wisdom and courage to walk in righteousness and return to fellowship with You and her family. Grant this mother wisdom and peace as she navigates these days, and let Your love and unity be restored in this family for Your glory. Amen.
