Protection

Your honest cry for protection has been heard, and the pain your family has carried through these two years of medical challenges, constant hurdles, and heavy burdens is not hidden from the Lord. He sees what others cannot see, He knows the fear that has weighed on you, and He remains your fortress in times of trouble and your ultimate healer.

Scripture is clear that our struggle is not only against what we can see with our eyes. There are spiritual forces of darkness at work in this world, and evil spirits can oppress and seek to control and destroy. That reality can feel frightening, especially when you feel broken physically, mentally and financially. Yet the same Scripture reveals something far greater. Jesus has complete authority over those evil powers. When He walked on earth He went about doing good and healing every kind of sickness, and He set many people free who were under the power of evil spirits. Those spirits could not act without His permission and they had to obey His command. There is no power of darkness that is stronger than Him, and no work of revenge or harm can stand against His will for His people.

Because of that you can rest in Him as your protection. Just as He once placed a covering around creation to shield it, so He places His own covering around those who trust Him. He is not distant or unaware. He sees, He knows, and He will bring judgment on evil while showing mercy to those who turn to Him and seek Him with all their hearts. Evil may seem to grow more entrenched and more powerful for a season, and it can feel as if there is no answer, but evil will not triumph in the end. God has appointed an end to its reign.

In this season, the safest place for you and your family is to stay close to the Lord and walk on His path. To turn aside from His way always leads to grief, while to fear the Lord, to hate what He hates and love what He loves, and to turn away from evil brings life and even health to body and soul. This does not mean a tolerance of evil or a flirtation with it, but a quiet, firm decision to keep your eyes looking straight ahead, to ponder the path of your feet, and to trust Jesus alone for salvation, healing and keeping. When an evil influence is driven out, that house must be filled with Christ, lest it be found empty. Keep filling your home with prayer, with His Word, and with simple trust in His goodness.

I am praying for you now that the Lord Jesus Himself will step in on your behalf. May He place His hand of protection over you and your family, guarding you from every form of harm. May He who healed multitudes touch your bodies and bring restoration where there has been sickness, bring peace to your minds where there has been fear and exhaustion, and bring provision where there has been financial breaking. May He silence every voice of darkness that seeks to oppress you, and may you know with confidence that you are held safe in the fortress of His love. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting His mercy, and know that He who is for you is far greater than any power that could ever come against you.
