Protection

It is a good thing to cry out for strong protection and breakthrough, because the Lord often leads His people into places where only His hand can save. When you face a snare with no visible escape, He shows His power to deliver. He makes a way where no way exists. The same God who split the Red Sea and toppled the horse and rider still triumphs gloriously over every trap set for His children. The fear that falls on our enemies is not our own making; it comes from His mighty arm working on behalf of those who trust Him.

That protection is found in dwelling in the secret place of the Most High. His truth is the shield and buckler that deflects the attacks of the enemy. When your mind is saturated with His word and your heart rests in His promises, you are sheltered. The divine power He has given supplies everything needed for life and godliness. The seed of His word planted in you grows a nature that reflects His own character, and with it comes His guarding presence in trouble.

Do not overlook the refuge found among His people either. Within the body, there is a kind of mutual protection and strength as each part does its work. You are not alone in this cry. Many others need the same breakthrough, and as you stand together, His deliverance unfolds. He intends for us to remember constantly that He has delivered from the bondage of sin through the Lamb of God. The same power that shattered Egypt’s grip works now for you.

Call on Him with confidence. He answers, He delivers, and He honors those who set their love upon Him. Long life and the fullness of His salvation are the portion of those who abide under His shadow. His refuge will hold, and the breakthrough will come.
