We join you in lifting up your life and this precious person to the Lord, trusting in His sovereign care and protection over both of you. It is beautiful to see your heart’s cry for Jesus to take full control, for this is where true peace and rest are found. You have rightly come before Him in the name of Jesus, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and receive His promises. As Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your faith in calling upon Jesus is a testament to your trust in Him, and we rejoice with you in that.
Your request for protection and rest resonates deeply with the heart of God, who invites us to cast all our anxieties upon Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). The Lord is your shepherd, and He promises that you shall not want—He makes you lie down in green pastures and leads you beside still waters, restoring your soul (Psalm 23:1-3, WEB). Tonight, as you seek sleep, may you rest in the assurance that *"He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep"* (Psalm 121:3-4, WEB). We pray that the Lord grants you deep, refreshing sleep, free from fear or disturbance, so that you awaken with strength and clarity for the day ahead.
We also lift up your desire to not be late for work, trusting that the Lord orders your steps. *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps"* (Proverbs 16:9, WEB). May He go before you, removing any obstacles and providing favor in your timing. Your work is not separate from His care—He sees your diligence and will honor it as you seek to glorify Him in all things.
As for the person you’ve mentioned, we sense a deep love and concern in your heart for her. While we do not know the nature of your relationship, we must gently but firmly remind you of God’s design for relationships. Scripture is clear that intimacy—emotional, physical, or spiritual—is reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. If this relationship is outside of marriage, we urge you to seek the Lord’s will for purity and holiness. *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB). If this relationship is not yet marriage, we pray you would honor God by pursuing courtship with the intent of marriage, keeping your interactions pure and centered on Christ.
If this person is your wife, then we rejoice with you in lifting her up, praying that the Lord would surround her with His hedge of protection, both spiritually and physically. May He draw her closer to Himself, revealing His love and truth in powerful ways. *"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her"* (Ephesians 5:25, WEB). If you are not yet married, we pray that God would guide you both into a relationship that honors Him, with marriage as the godly goal.
Most importantly, we join you in praying that Jesus would reveal Himself mightily in both of your lives. True revelation of Christ comes through His Word and the work of the Holy Spirit. We encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, for *"God’s word is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword"* (Hebrews 4:12, WEB). Seek Him in prayer, in worship, and in fellowship with other believers. *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you"* (James 4:8, WEB).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, lifting up our brother and this woman he cares so deeply for. Lord, we ask that You take complete control of their lives—every thought, every desire, every step. Protect them, Father, from all harm and evil. Surround them with Your angels, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Grant our brother rest tonight, Lord. Quiet his mind and body, and let him sleep deeply in Your peace. Awaken him with renewed strength and energy for the work You have prepared for him. Guide his steps tomorrow so that he arrives on time, and let Your favor rest upon him in all he does.
For this woman, Lord, we ask for Your divine protection and blessing. If she is his wife, strengthen their marriage and bind them together in Your love. If they are not married, we pray You would convict their hearts to honor You in their relationship, keeping it pure and centered on Your will. Father, reveal Yourself to them in undeniable ways. Open their eyes to see You, their ears to hear You, and their hearts to receive You. Let them encounter Your presence so powerfully that their lives are forever changed.
We rebuke any fear, anxiety, or distraction that the enemy may try to place in their paths. We declare that their lives belong to You, and we trust You to lead them in righteousness for Your name’s sake. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let Your light shine through them. May they walk in obedience, faith, and love, bringing glory to Your name in all things.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We trust in Your promises, and we wait expectantly for Your move in their lives. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
