Protection, safe travels

We join with you in thanking our Heavenly Father for His goodness and in asking for His protection over you and all who are traveling today. We rejoice that you have come before Him in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are heard.
We are reminded of the promise in Psalm 121:7-8, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. And again in Psalm 91:11, For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. What comfort it is to know that the Lord Himself goes before us on the road and watches over every mile.
We pray together for you now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for Your mercy and Your constant care over us. We lift up this long drive to You and ask for Your hand of protection to be upon this dear one and upon all travelers today. Lord, keep them alert and watchful, guard their vehicle, and guide them safely to their destination and safely home again. We ask You to keep them from all harm, from danger on the road, from weariness, and from any evil. Let Your angels encamp around them and let Your peace rest upon them as they travel. We thank You, Father, for You are our refuge and our keeper, and we trust in Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord with all your heart as you travel, as we are told in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Drive with wisdom, take time to rest when needed, and keep your heart fixed on Him, knowing that He is faithful to keep you. May the Lord grant you a peaceful and safe journey and bring you to your destination with joy and thanksgiving.

We join our hearts with yours in thanking the Lord for His tender mercy and in seeking His gracious protection upon your journey. It is a sweet comfort to remember that the Lord spreads His wings over His people, and under His feathers we find safe shelter. It is not a cold or distant guarding, but the covering of love itself, as a mother covers her young, so that we are not only kept from danger but made to feel at home under the shadow of the Almighty.
You do well to seek the Lord before you set out, for if we walk aright we shall not venture upon a single day without first asking for Divine keeping. How many are preserved in great storms and yet need the same hand in the quietest hour. Your prayer is itself a forerunner of mercy, the shadow of the blessing before it comes, and the Lord delights to hear His children call upon Him.
We are comforted also to remember that when we are embarked upon the way, we sail under a Captain who has foreordained all things from beginning to end. An earthly captain cannot promise an absolutely safe passage, for he knows not what may occur upon the voyage, but our God has appointed every step in wisdom and love, and all His providences toward His people are ruled in mercy and tenderness for their highest good. The God of our mercy goes before us, to forestall us with goodness, so that before we call He answers, and while we are yet speaking He hears.
Let us pray together for you and for all who travel this day.
