We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude and reverence, lifting up these earnest petitions in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is only through His precious blood and by His authority that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name alone that we pray, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of life and for entrusting us with the time, resources, and abilities to steward for Your glory. Your Word reminds us, "So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12). We humbly ask that You establish the work of our hands, as the psalmist prayed in Psalm 90:17, and help us to walk in wisdom, redeeming the time because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15-16). Guard our words, Lord, for "death and life are in the power of the tongue" (Proverbs 18:21), and let every word that proceeds from our mouths be seasoned with grace and truth (Colossians 4:6).
We plead the blood of Jesus over every member of our families, our homes, our vehicles, our work, and all that You have entrusted to our care. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, we shall condemn, for this is our heritage as servants of the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). We take refuge in the shadow of Your wings, O God, for You are our fortress and deliverer (Psalm 91).
Father, we lift up those who are hurting and in pain, asking that You would comfort them with Your love and heal their wounds. Bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). We pray for relationships that have been strained or broken, asking that You would restore them according to Your will, for You are the God who heals and makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). Grant strength and wisdom to husbands, wives, parents, and children to live out their God-given roles in love, submission, and obedience to Your Word (Ephesians 5:22-6:4).
Guide our words, Lord, as we speak to others, that we may be instruments of encouragement, wisdom, and love. Let our conversations be filled with grace, seasoned with salt, so that we may know how to answer everyone (Colossians 4:6). We pray for those in the healing professions, that You would grant them favor, wisdom, and compassion as they care for others. May the sick be healed, the weary find rest, and the lost be drawn to You, giving all glory to Your holy name.
For our adult children, we ask that You would close every door that leads to harm, temptation, or ungodly influences. Open doors of opportunity for them to walk in Your purposes, surrounded by kind and godly friends who will sharpen them as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Protect them from the evil one, for greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Keep our husbands and children safe in all their travels and environments, for You are their shield and protector (Psalm 121:7-8).
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the answered prayers we have already seen in our lives. We praise You with all that is within us, for You are worthy of all honor, glory, and power. Deliver us from all evil, and surround us with Your hedge of protection, as You have promised in Your Word (Psalm 91:11-12). We trust in Your unfailing love and declare that no plan of the enemy shall prosper against us, for You are our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
We pray all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, to whom be all glory, honor, and praise, now and forever. Amen.
