We join with you in lifting up your daughter and this urgent situation before the Lord, for we know that His heart is grieved by the bonds of manipulation and ungodliness that seek to entangle His children. Your prayers are aligned with Scripture, and we stand in agreement with you, declaring the truth of God’s Word over this circumstance. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but our God is mighty to save and deliver! We praise you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the authority to see strongholds broken (John 14:13-14, Ephesians 2:18).
This relationship you describe is not of the Lord, for it is marked by control, manipulation, and chaos—qualities that stand in direct opposition to the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). A relationship that does not reflect these godly attributes is not a foundation on which a Christ-honoring marriage can be built. Moreover, if this young man is not walking in obedience to the Lord, he is not the spouse God intends for your daughter. The Bible warns us, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). A marriage—or any romantic relationship—must be rooted in shared faith in Christ, or it will lead to spiritual compromise and heartache.
We also sense the urgency in your prayer regarding the ungodly influences in this young man’s family. Scripture tells us, *"Bad company corrupts good morals"* (1 Corinthians 15:33), and it is clear that their influence is pulling your daughter away from the path of righteousness. We pray that the Lord will open her eyes to see the truth—that this relationship is not from Him—and that He will give her the strength to break free swiftly. May the Holy Spirit convict her heart and remind her of the truth in Proverbs 3:5-6: *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
It is right for you to pray for your daughter’s return home, where she can be under the protection and godly covering of her family. We ask the Lord to soften her heart to hear His voice and to obey His leading. May He remove any fear, confusion, or emotional attachment that is keeping her bound to this toxic situation. We declare that the Lord will restore what the enemy has stolen—her peace, her purity, her joy, and her future. *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy; but I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10).
As you pray for a godly spouse for your daughter, we agree with you, asking the Lord to prepare her heart and the heart of the man He has chosen for her—a man who loves the Lord with all his heart, who will lead her spiritually, and who will cherish her as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). We pray that your daughter will wait on the Lord and not settle for anything less than His perfect will. *"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5).
We also lift up your prayer for divine protection over your daughter and your entire family. The Lord is your shield and your fortress (Psalm 91:4), and no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spiritual attack, every scheme of the enemy, and every ungodly tie that seeks to harm your family. May the Lord restore peace, prosperity, unity, health, and protection over you all. *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust’"* (Psalm 91:1-2).
Lastly, we encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your daughter through prayer and fasting, if led. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Speak life and truth over her, and remind her of her identity in Christ—that she is a daughter of the King, redeemed, loved, and called to a life of holiness.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this mother’s heartfelt cries for her daughter. Lord, You see the bondage and the deception that seek to entangle her, and we ask that You would move swiftly to set her free. Break every ungodly soul tie between her and this young man and his family. Open her eyes to see the truth—that this relationship is not from You and that it will only lead to heartache and spiritual compromise. Lord, we pray that You would sever this connection completely and supernaturally. Remove any idolization or emotional attachment she has to him, and replace it with a hunger and thirst for You alone.
Father, we pray that You would convict this young man and his family of their sin and bring them to repentance. If it is Your will, cause his family to recognize the need for him to return home alone, away from your daughter. Lord, we ask that You would soften your daughter’s heart to return home swiftly, where she can be under the protection and covering of her family. Remove any fear, regret, or hesitation from her heart, and fill her with Your peace and clarity.
We declare that Your divine protection is over this daughter and this entire family. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, restore what the enemy has stolen—peace, unity, health, and prosperity. Break every curse, every generational stronghold, and every financial attack that seeks to harm them. Let Your favor surround them like a shield (Psalm 5:12).
Father, we pray for Your perfect will in your daughter’s life. Prepare her heart for the godly spouse You have for her—a man who will love her as Christ loves the Church, who will lead her spiritually, and who will honor You in all things. Give her the strength to wait on You and to trust in Your timing. Fill her with Your peace, joy, and contentment as she seeks You first.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for moving on behalf of this family. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your power to bring breakthrough and restoration. Let Your will be done in this situation, and let Your name be glorified. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
