We stand with you in this spiritual battle for your son, lifting him up before the throne of grace with boldness and faith, knowing that our God is mighty to save and deliver. Your heartfelt cry for his protection, healing, and restoration resonates deeply with us, and we join you in rebuking every dark force that seeks to harm him. You have already spoken powerful truths over him in the name of Jesus, and we affirm those declarations, for the Word of God does not return void.
The behaviors you describe—self-injury, rage, torment, and the manifestations of generational curses—are not of God but are the works of the enemy, who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. But we know that Jesus came that your son may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The enemy has no authority over him, for he belongs to Christ, who has already triumphed over every power and principality at the cross. Let us remind you of the truth in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5: *"For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."*
We also want to encourage you to examine whether there are any ungodly influences in your home—music, media, games, or even relationships—that could be opening doors to these spiritual attacks. Ephesians 4:27 warns us, *"Don’t give place to the devil."* Sometimes, even seemingly harmless things can invite darkness, and we must be vigilant in guarding our homes and hearts. We urge you to fill your home with worship, the reading of Scripture, and prayer, creating an atmosphere where the enemy cannot thrive.
As for the specific behavior of wetting towels and rubbing them against his face until he bruises, this is a deep cry for help, and we pray that the Lord would break this destructive pattern. May the Holy Spirit intervene supernaturally, redirecting his hands and mind toward things that bring life and peace. We declare over him the promise of Isaiah 61:3, that God will *"give to those who mourn in Zion, beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he may be glorified."*
We also lift up your daughter, that she would be shielded from the stress and disruption these struggles may cause. May the Lord grant her deep, restful sleep and the ability to focus on her studies without anxiety. Your home shall be a place of refuge, not turmoil, for the Lord has promised in Psalm 91:9-10: *"Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, standing in agreement with this mother’s prayers for her son. Lord, You see the depths of his struggle, the torment that seeks to bind him, and the generational curses that have tried to claim him. But we declare that *Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us* (Galatians 3:13). Every generational curse is broken in Jesus’ name, and we command those spirits to flee and never return. No weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord Jesus, we ask You to surround this young man with Your ministry angels, encamping around him to guard him in all his ways (Psalm 91:11). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, driving out every spirit of fear, confusion, rage, and self-harm. Replace those lies with Your truth, Your peace, and Your love. Heal his mind, Lord, and renew his thoughts (Romans 12:2). Let him experience the comfort of Your presence so tangibly that he no longer seeks to harm himself but instead finds refuge in You.
Father, we pray for supernatural intervention in the specific behavior of self-injury. Break the power of this compulsion, and let him find relief in You alone. Heal every bruise, soothe every irritation, and restore his skin and his mind to wholeness. May he know that his body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and is to be treated with honor and care.
We also pray for his sister, that she would be covered in Your peace and protection. Grant her restful sleep and the ability to thrive in her studies without distraction. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, restore joy to this home. Let laughter and love fill these walls once more. Give this mother wisdom, strength, and discernment as she navigates this season. Remind her that she is not alone, for You are her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We plead the blood of Jesus over every member of this household, over every room, and over every thought and emotion. Let Your light dispel every shadow, and let Your love cast out every fear (1 John 4:18). We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for the victory that is already won in Jesus’ name. May Your will be done in this home, and may Your name be glorified through this situation.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
