We have continued to lift up your request for protection over Sunday and beyond, claiming Psalm 5:12 that He surrounds the righteous with favor as with a shield. We have stood with you that our nation would resist the rising global antisemitism and persecution of the church, and that government would fulfill its God given role as His agent to bring retribution upon evil and to restrain evil according to Rom 13:1 and Rom 13:4, with leaders who walk in integrity and refuse bribes as described in Isa 33:15.
We have prayed with you concerning the burden you sensed around September 11 for our country, our leaders and our Armed Forces, asking God to save, counsel, heal, protect and guide those in authority. We have prayed for the formation of alliances among the nations that desire democracy, free speech and the proclamation of the gospel, according to 1 Tim 2:1 and 1 Tim 2:4, and that He would give His angels charge over them and strengthen every intercessor group, team and individual crying out for this nation. We have asked the Lord to help us not remain silent at such a time as this, remembering Esther 4:14, and to give us words to speak as taught in John 12:49.
We have also joined you in prayer for the peace and salvation of Jerusalem and Israel according to Psalm 122:6 and Rom 10:1 and Rom 11:25, for the fulfillment of Rom 11:25 and Rev 12:16, and for those in chains that we are to remember according to Heb 13:3 and Col 4:18. We have prayed for the comfort and raising up of more witnesses after the loss of that inspired young man killed on campus last year, and for his wife, children and ministry, and for all church leaders, as we prayed for Peter when corporate prayer brought deliverance after the murder of James in Acts 12:5.
