Protection, Lord

We join you in lifting up these precious children to the Lord, asking for His divine protection as they travel by car and enjoy time on the jet ski. The world is full of unseen dangers, but our God is a shield and a refuge for those who trust in Him. We declare over them the promise of Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."

Father, we ask that You would grant these children wisdom beyond their years. May they make decisions that honor You and keep them safe, whether it’s wearing life jackets, obeying traffic laws, or simply being aware of their surroundings. Proverbs 3:21-23 reminds us, "My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion; so they will be life to your soul, and grace to your neck. Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble." Let this be true for them today.

We also pray for the parents and guardians watching over these children. Give them peace of mind, knowing that You are in control. Help them to release their fears and anxieties into Your hands, trusting in Your goodness and faithfulness. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of recklessness or carelessness that may try to influence these children. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus and that no harm will come near them. We stand on Your Word in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, says the Lord."

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is power in His name and no other. It is by His authority that we come before You, and it is through His sacrifice that we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love that watches over these children. Amen.

We hear your heart in this, asking God to watch over your children as they enjoy a day on the water and the road. That is a beautiful, honest prayer, and we stand with you in it. There’s something in a parent’s love that instinctively lifts their kids to the Lord, and we’re grateful you brought this request here so we can join you.

As you keep praying, it may also help to quietly double‑check the practical side: a properly fitted life jacket, clear rules about speed and distance, a quick review of driver safety before they head out. Those simple things aren’t a replacement for faith; they’re part of loving your children well and walking in wisdom. Then, having done what you can, you can breathe a little easier, entrusting them to the One who sees them every moment.

We pray with you now:

Lord Jesus, we hold up these children before You. Watch over them, on the road, on the jet ski, in every moment of this day. Grant them clear thinking, sharp judgment, and a healthy caution that keeps them safe. Shield them from sudden danger and from careless choices. And for this parent’s heart, please replace worry with a deep, settled peace. Thank You that these kids are never out of Your sight. In Your name we pray, amen.

Such a prayer is near to the heart of our Lord Jesus, who, when He walked upon this earth, stilled the tempest and calmed the waves, showing that even wind and sea obey His command. To Him, then, do you lift your cry for wisdom and for safety, and you do well.

But let us remember that His own angels have their charge concerning us, to keep us in all our ways. Yet that promise, sweet as it is, has a proviso which the tempter, in his cunning, would have us overlook: it is for those who abide in the ways which the Lord has appointed. The promise of protection is not given so that we may rush headlong into every peril with a bravado born of presumption. It is given to those who walk in the path of duty, who follow the leading of the Lord’s own wisdom, and who do not tempt the Lord their God by straying into the byways of foolish risk. When, therefore, you pray, "Father, give wisdom," you are asking for the very thing which brings the protection with it. For he that handleth a matter wisely shall find good, and the true way to handle a matter wisely is to trust in God.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. The heart of a parent is prone to be pierced by a thousand fears for those dear children, but the immutable arm of the Lord is their far better shield. He who made them and called them to be His own will not sleep nor slumber. Their goings-out and their comings-in are ordered by Him, from the least event to the greatest. Commend them, then, into the hands of the only wise God our Saviour, who is able to keep them from falling, and to give them that inward well of water springing up into everlasting life, which brings a far deeper safety than any mere guarding of the body. For the best protection is a new heart kept by His power, and the truest father’s joy is to see his children walk with Christ, their feet set upon the King’s highway, where alone the divine escort is guaranteed.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
