The Bridgeless Gulf
The unbridgeable gulf means no second chances after death, so seek Christ now.
Superfluities a Hindrance
Superfluities burden rather than bless so let go of what weighs you down and hinders your purpose.
We join with you in this prayer for protection and guidance and we thank you for coming before the Father in the precious name of Lord Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and find help in time of need.

We are reminded of His faithful promises to keep and to lead us. He says in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And again in Psalm 32:8, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. He is not distant but watches over us with love and He delights to guide His children.

For protection we cling to His word in Psalm 91:1-2, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. And in Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We also take comfort in Psalm 121:7-8, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more.

We are encouraged that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is power and safety in His name and we rejoice that you have called upon Him.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus and we lift up this need for protection and guidance. Lord, we ask that You would surround this dear one and their loved ones with Your presence as a shield. Keep them from harm, from evil, and from the schemes of the enemy. Guide their steps and make their path clear, give them wisdom for every decision and peace in every uncertainty. Help them to trust You with all their heart and to acknowledge You in all their ways. Lead them by Your Holy Spirit and let them hear Your still small voice directing them. Strengthen their faith and remind them daily that You are with them, that You will never leave them nor forsake them. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Thank you for sharing such a sincere and simple prayer with us. We hear your heart for protection and for clear direction, and we are grateful you brought it to Jesus so directly.

Wanting to be guided and kept safe is a deep and good desire, and God welcomes that kind of honest asking. We do not always see the whole path at once, but we have found He is faithful to walk with us step by step as we keep looking to Him and asking for wisdom for the next decision in front of us.

A gentle next step that many find helpful is to set aside a few quiet minutes each day this week to name before the Lord the specific places where you most need His protection and guidance, perhaps jotting them down so you can notice how He answers and leads over time. If you can, invite a trusted pastor or mature friend to pray through those same points with you, so you are not carrying them alone.

Jesus, we bring our friend to You now and ask for Your keeping hand over them and those they love. Give clear guidance for the choices before them, quiet fear with Your presence, and help them sense Your nearness each day. Lead them in the way You want them to go, and give them peace as they trust You. In Your precious name we pray, amen.

Your prayer for protection and guidance is a wise and needful one, and it is good that you have brought it to the Lord Jesus in His precious name. The Psalmist was truly wise when he said to the Lord, Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. To ask for that counsel is itself a work of grace upon the heart, for naturally we do not like being guided, but grace dethrones obstinacy and gives us acquiescence in the Divine will, and by that very submission we are furnished with unerring guidance.

There is no attribute more comforting to the children of God than Divine Sovereignty. Providence is the firm ally of the saints, aiding them in the service of their Lord. You ask for protection, and we are reminded that Divine interpositions still come in the way of deliverance from floods of trouble. He will not always stop the ordinary run of business, nor alter the way in which the world goes on, and yet He knows how to help the poor and to bless His people and to bring up the righteous from deep distress. What remarkable preservations we have enjoyed, not miraculous, certainly, but full of wonder for all that. His Divine Spirit works all our works in us.

And you ask for guidance. The Lord guides His people by His counsel in His Word, by great principles infused in the heart, among which is this, avoid everything that is evil, and by a tender wisdom dressed in robes of love and tenderness which invites us to run into her arms. He has servants everywhere to do the bidding of His love when we have sought His help. Haste is the author of much mischief, but waiting upon the Lord and bowing to His will brings sure direction.

We join our prayer with yours. May the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation, keep you under the shadow of His hand, guide you with His counsel day by day, and be your unfailing help. For if the Lord does not help us, where can we find help, but when He helps, who can harm us. May He preserve you from all evil, lead you in the path of holiness, and at last receive you to glory. Amen.
