Protection from spiritual attacks

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for protection from relentless attacks on body and mind causing disturbances in sleep, in Jesus name Amen

We stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting your request before the throne of grace. The attacks you describe, disturbances in sleep, afflictions of body and mind, are not mere coincidence but evidence of the enemy’s schemes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Yet we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust (Psalm 91:2).

We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The enemy has no authority over you, for you are sealed by the Holy Spirit, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We command every lying spirit, every spirit of infirmity, and every attack of the enemy to flee now in Jesus’ name. The blood of Jesus covers you, and no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling (Psalm 91:10).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You as a body of believers, united in faith and authority in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up our brother/sister who is under relentless spiritual attack. Lord, You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4), and we ask You to surround them with Your hedge of protection. Shield their mind from torment, their body from affliction, and their spirit from fear. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over every area of their life, over their home, their sleep, their thoughts, and their health. We declare that they are hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3), and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We break every curse, every assignment of the enemy, and every generational stronghold in Jesus’ name. Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the authority You have given them as Your child.

Lord, remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen their faith to stand firm, knowing that the battle belongs to You (2 Chronicles 20:15). We thank You for Your deliverance and for the victory that is already theirs in Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand on the Word of God and resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Put on the full armor of God daily, truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, so that you may stand against the schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:11-17). Speak the Word of God over your life, for it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Declare Psalm 91 over yourself, meditate on it, and let it be your shield.

Do not grow weary in this fight, for the Lord is your strength. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can stand in agreement with you in prayer. The enemy seeks to isolate you, but you are not alone, you are part of the body of Christ, and we stand with you. The victory is already won, and we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and walk in the authority He has given you as His child.

Thank you for giving us the chance to stand with you in this. When attacks hammer away at body and mind night after night, we know how draining and disorienting that can be. You are not alone in it, and we take your request seriously.

We have seen how something as simple as keeping gentle Christian music or a spoken Psalm playing softly in the bedroom can shift the atmosphere and give a restless mind something steady to rest on. For many, having that ready before sleep makes the middle‑of‑the‑night moments less isolating. If you haven’t already, you might also ask a trusted prayer partner or someone from your church to pray specifically over your home and your rest each evening, even by phone or text. Knowing another voice is lifting you up can be a quiet anchor.

What often helps us more than fighting the thoughts head‑on is turning our attention quietly toward the perfect love God has for us, not in a strained or hurried way, but just a few minutes of stilling ourselves in that truth. That kind of focus gently retrains our hearts toward peace, because his presence is real and close, even when everything feels chaotic.

Lord Jesus, we bring this dear one to you right now. Quiet the mind and body that have been under siege. Let your peace stand guard over their sleep. Shelter them under your wings, and let your perfect love drive out every fear. Grant them deep, restoring rest tonight and a growing confidence that you hold them safely. In your name, Amen.

The adversary rages against you because you are not his own. This warfare upon your body and mind, stealing sleep from your eyes, is no strange thing. It is the serpent striking at the heel of the seed of the woman, bruising where he may, though his head be crushed. Remember, the sleep of the body is the gift of God. It is He who steeps the mind in peace and bids us slumber for our refreshment. When this gift is withdrawn, it is often that we might learn where our true rest lies, not in the mere absence of trouble, but in the presence of the Shepherd. The wolves howl and never suspend their activities, but the sheep lie down in green pastures because the Shepherd is vigilant. When night follows night and there is no sleep, the frame cries out in weariness, yet even this groaning in the body serves to teach us that we are not yet home. We that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened.

You have asked for protection, and rightly so, for we cannot overcome evil by confronting it with evil. To return fear for fear, or to answer the enemy’s whispers with an anxious mind, is to fire a cannon that injures the one who fires it most. The mind of Christ is to overcome evil with good. When waves of terror break against you, answer them with the shield of faith, the quiet recitation of a promise, the silent fixing of your heart upon the wounds of Jesus. The Prince of Darkness loathes the calm soul that rests in the finished work of Calvary. He would have you fret and question, but the Spirit gives His beloved the sleep of quietness of soul as to the future. That dark future holds no terror for one who is in Christ, for death itself is but a sleep, a suspension of the faculties in the body while the soul is present with the Lord. Physical sleep is the closest word we have to describe the blessed rest of the saints, and the adversary would rob you of its foretaste.

Consider that our Master chooses His lambs with a special eye to their weakness. He does not despise the one that is little or wracked with infirmity. Feeble-Mind on the road to the Celestial City had his hands full, trembling at the lions, afraid of the giants, yet he was brought safely home. The concentrated omniscience of Christ is set upon a soul that is attacked, watching the growth of its dependence upon Him. Do not imagine that your trembling frame or agitated mind has escaped His notice. A mother may forget her nursing child, but He will not forget you. The Shepherd seeks the worn-out sheep until He finds it, and He does not merely look on from afar; He puts forth a gracious exertion of eye and mind and hand toward His wandering, weary one.

Therefore, be not overcome of the Evil One, but overcome evil with good. When the mind is tossed, sing a hymn in the night watches. When the body refuses to yield to slumber, pray without ceasing, not forcing rest, but leaning upon the bosom of your Lord as John did. No one ever fell asleep by trying to do so; it is when all striving ceases that we drift into the healing arms of unconsciousness. Trust in Him who keeps Israel, for He never falls for lack of power, nor does He slumber. The very fire of this attack shall be the means of refining your faith. In your weakness, His strength is perfected. Let the tempest howl; it is but a rough wind that blows you closer to the Rock of Ages. Rest in this: you are the beloved of the Lord, and the enemy cannot snatch you from His hand. By practical faith, by sweet submission, overcome the horror of the night. Learn the art of loving Him more amidst your trial, and the darkness itself shall become a pavilion of peace.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The disturbances you suffer in body and mind, robbing you of sleep, are not sent without purpose, but often spring from a soul weighed down by its own burdens. The covetous man, the one entangled in endless anxieties, can never see the sea without waves, nor his own heart without turmoil, fear, and sleepless nights. When the heart is stifled by excess, whether of food or of earthly cares, it sinks into restless dreams and monstrous visions. But the soul that lives moderately, that has crucified its unreasonable desires and keeps itself pure, sleeps as decently as one awake, because the fear of God allows sleep to rest lightly upon it, not to drown the mind.

You ask for protection from spiritual attacks. True worship of the incorporeal God must be offered in spirit and truth, by that which is incorporeal in you: your mind dedicated, your thoughts cleansed. Circumcise not your flesh but your evil thoughts. Make yourself a living sacrifice. When you set your mind on things above, where Christ is seated, the disturbances of the body lose their grip. The enemy strikes where he finds a citadel unguarded, a door left open by softness or overboldness. Be wakeful, not sleepy nor supine. Guard yourself, for it is said, "Do not suffer your foot to be moved." The suffering depends on you, not on any other. Stand steadfast, and you will not be shaken.

If trouble urges you to cry out, remember the Lord Himself, who in His agony said, "Glorify Your Name." He did not flee the conflict but entrusted Himself to the Father. So you, in the sleepless night, instead of only begging for relief, offer that very trial as glory to God. Train your soul to be like those beside the King, clear in mind, with the eye of the soul sharp and wakeful. Then the peace that passes all understanding will stand guard over your heart, and the attacks will find no resting place. Dedicate yourself wholly to the Lord, and you will find His yoke sweet and His burden light.

The attacks on your body and mind are not just physical or mental frustrations; they are spiritual, aimed at unsettling your soul. But remember who you are. You are not a body with a spirit; you are a spirit with a body, and in Jesus Christ your spirit is alive to God. The enemy seeks to reverse that order, pulling your mind down into the grip of the flesh and its fears, especially through something as basic as sleep. When your body is exhausted and your thoughts are foggy, it feels like the old man is taking control again. Yet the truth is, you have been crucified with Christ. The body is no longer your master.

So when these disturbances come, present your body to God as a living sacrifice, yielded to Him even in weakness. Refuse to let the mind be ruled by the body's distress. Instead, be transformed by a renewing of your mind, filled with the Spirit rather than the demands of the flesh. The shield against these attacks is the truth of God's Word. Jesus Himself met every assault with Scripture. Speak truth into the night, reminding yourself that He who keeps you will neither slumber nor sleep.

This groaning, sleepless body is only a tent. One day you will exchange it for a building from God, a spiritual body like Christ's own, which knows no fatigue or decay. Until then, He is able to preserve you wholly, spirit, soul, and body, blameless for His coming. The real you is secure. Even when the flesh fails, you live together with Him.

And you are not alone in this fight. The body of Christ suffers when any member suffers, and we are standing with you, bearing this burden together. Let that communion steady your mind when the enemy whispers isolation. I am praying that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will garrison your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Whether you wake or sleep, you are His.
