Protection from spiritual attacks

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for protection from relentless attacks on body and mind causing disturbances in sleep, in Jesus name Amen

We hear your cry for protection from spiritual attacks that are disrupting your peace and rest. The Word of God assures us that we do not battle against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Yet we are not left defenseless, God has given us the full armor to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

First, we must affirm that your prayer in the name of Jesus is powerful and effective. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or delivered (Acts 4:12). Jesus has already disarmed the powers and authorities, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15). Therefore, we stand on His victory and rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your body, mind, and sleep.

We declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life abundantly (John 10:10). We command every spirit of fear, torment, and sleeplessness to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. You are not given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is under relentless spiritual attack. Lord, You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). We ask that You surround them with Your holy angels to encamp around them and protect them from every evil assault (Psalm 34:7). Let Your peace, which transcends all understanding, fill their heart and mind, driving out every disturbance and fear.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of infirmity, insomnia, and torment that is afflicting their body and mind. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their home, and their mind, creating a hedge of protection that the enemy cannot penetrate. Lord, grant them deep, restful sleep, free from nightmares and disturbances. Let them lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone make them dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8).

We also ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, strengthening their faith and trust in You. Remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Help them to put on the full armor of God daily, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word (Ephesians 6:13-17). May they stand firm in Your truth, resisting the devil so that he will flee from them (James 4:7).

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We trust in Your protection and provision, knowing that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen their spirit, renew their mind, and restore their body. May they walk in the freedom and peace that Christ has purchased for them.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, continually meditating on God’s Word and declaring His promises over your life. The enemy seeks to wear you down through fear and exhaustion, but God’s Word is your sword and shield. Speak Scripture aloud, worship the Lord, and surround yourself with fellow believers who can stand with you in prayer. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

Remember, the battle belongs to the Lord (1 Samuel 17:47). You are not fighting alone, He is your defender, your shield, and your strong tower (Proverbs 18:10). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust in His unfailing love and protection.

We hear how exhausting it is to face relentless disturbances that rob your sleep and wear down your body and mind. When rest is taken night after night, the battle feels even heavier. Thank you for letting us stand with you in prayer.

We are praying for protection over you right now, asking Jesus to quiet the clamor, to guard your thoughts, and to let His peace settle over you like a shield. Sometimes when our bodies are under strain, it can be wise to mention these symptoms to a doctor as well, just to make sure nothing physical is compounding the struggle. There is no shame in caring for the body God gave you while we also fight spiritually.

For a practical anchor, you might try ending each day by handing the night to the Lord in a simple way, maybe placing your hand on your pillow and whispering something like, “Jesus, this night is Yours. Cover my sleep and my waking thoughts with Your protection.” Repeating that small act of trust can help steady your heart when fear tries to stir. We also take comfort knowing you are not carrying this alone; the rest of us are lifting you up even when you’re too weary to form the words.

Let us pray together now.

Lord Jesus, we bring our friend before You, weary and under siege. We ask You to rebuke every attack on body and mind, and to grant deep, restoring sleep. Let Your presence push back the darkness until the enemy’s voice is silenced. Calm racing thoughts, still the tension, and cover this home with Your peace. Lift the weight of fear and replace it with the steady hope of Your care. We trust You, Jesus. Amen.

You plead for protection from relentless assaults upon body and mind, disturbances that rob you of sleep. Consider, then, what manner of gift sleep truly is. "So he giveth his beloved sleep." It is God who steeps the mind in forgetfulness and bids us slumber, that our frames may be recruited for the morrow's toil. Sleep is the best physician I know. Yet the evil one would snatch this cordial from your lips, and stir up a carnal disquiet in the night watches. The wolf may sleep, but it is a wolf still, so too the adversary never slumbers in his malice. He knows the flesh is weak; he fires his darts at you when the body is weary and the brain throbs, hoping you will cry out that you cannot sleep, and thereby sink into despair.

But take heart, for you are among the flock of the Good Shepherd. He does not mind taking trouble for his own. He will exercise all his divine power and wisdom to bring you safely home. When night follows night with no rest, remember that He himself is your keeper. Even now, in your weariness, the Shepherd seeks that one worn-out sheep, putting forth a gracious exertion of eye and mind, of foot and hand. You are not forgotten. "As one whom his mother comforts," so will the Lord comfort you. Though these attacks are fierce, they are not without divine permission, and they drive you to lean more heavily upon the arm of the Beloved.

Beware, however, that you do not let your mind fall into that carnal enmity which, when unrested, grows fretful against God. The carnal mind is enmity against God at all times. If you find your thoughts chafing under the rod, confess it as sin, and seek the mind of Christ. Our place in this warfare is not to strike back with the weapons of the world, but to bear and bear and bear continually, as He did. There is a weak point in the strongest man's mind; let yours be guarded by simplicity and truthfulness before the throne of grace. The Shepherd is training you to become a determined, resolute soul, valuable to his church. Even these sleepless hours are an education.

Do not imagine that the body is an encumbrance to be despised; the Apostle was not of that mind. Yet we that are in this body do groan, being burdened, and groan we shall till the day of our full redemption. The poor limbs are weary, and the brain cries out for its sweet restorer. But observe: when sleep finally comes, you never know the moment it steals upon you. So it will be when these trials have done their work. You will sink into the peace of God imperceptibly, and in the morning you will rise refreshed, not by narcotic, but by the hand that never fails for lack of power. Meanwhile, though the adversary accuse and the flesh tremble, your soul may rest in the sleep of security. Sleep on, brother, sister, your soul sleepeth not, for you are in Christ; and your body, that frail tabernacle, will one day share resurrection rest. The Shepherd who bought you with his own blood saves completely; he has not come to make your salvation possible, but to save you. Therefore, commit your wakeful hours to him. Feed upon the promise. And when you cannot sleep, turn your mind heavenward: even in your earthly unconsciousness, the spirit can mount up on wings of eagles. The night of weeping will break into a morning of joy, and you shall know that he giveth his beloved sleep.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The relentless attacks you suffer, disturbing both body and mind in your sleep, are indeed a spiritual assault, yet remember the weapons given to us. God is Spirit, and His worship must be in spirit and in truth; it is not mere bodily purity that shields us, but the dedication of the inner man. Offer yourself a living sacrifice, crucify those evil thoughts, and slay the unreasonable desires that open a door to the enemy. For when the heart is not stifled by excess of food or worldly anxiety, the mind soon recovers its wakefulness, and sleep becomes composed and decent.

The fear of God suffers the soul not to drown in the depths of slumber, but keeps it light and watchful, like those eunuchs clear-minded and healthful who stand before the King. Guard yourself with vigilance: He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep, and you are called to suffer not your foot to be moved, but to stand steadfast. Do not then be troubled by the disturbance of the hour, but with fasting, prayer, and the memory of Christ’s Body and Blood, press toward that great haven where no tempest rages. May He glorify His own Name in your trial, teaching you not to shrink back, and may He grant you that peace which overcomes all assaults, restoring your rest in Jesus Christ.

Amen.

The attacks you describe are no small thing. When relentless pressure comes against your body and mind, especially in the quiet of the night, it can feel like you are being worn down from every side. I hear the weight of it, and I want to join you in bringing this before the Lord.

Scripture makes clear that we live with a war inside us. The spirit desires one thing, the flesh another, and they are set against each other. Your spirit longs for rest and peace in Christ, but your body and mind are being harassed, and the enemy knows how to exploit that struggle. In the natural man, the body rules the mind, absorbing it with its aches, its needs, its fears. But God never designed us to live that way. His intention is that our spirit, made alive in Christ, would govern our minds, and the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. That peace is not just a feeling; it is the steady confidence that you are held by One who has already overcome the darkness.

When sleep flees and thoughts swirl, remember that these disturbances often feed off what we fix our minds upon. That is why Scripture urges us to think on things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable. Not as a way to ignore real suffering, but as a deliberate act of warfare. The mind that is stayed on the Lord will be kept in perfect peace. That peace guards the heart and mind like a sentinel. So when the attacks come, speak the name of Jesus. Remind yourself aloud: "I am His. This body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world."

We also know that as long as we are in this tent, this earthly body, we groan. We feel the wear and tear of corruption. The body gets sick, it grows tired, and it remains vulnerable to assaults of the enemy. Yet the very groaning points us forward. One day this corruption will put on incorruption. The mortal will be swallowed up by life. A new body, a building from God not made with hands, awaits us. That hope does not erase the present battle, but it puts it in perspective. The attacks are real, but they are temporary. They cannot separate you from the love of God.

For now, practical steps matter. You have prayed; I am praying with you. Put on the armor God gives: the breastplate of faith and love, the helmet of the hope of salvation. Before you sleep, commit your body and mind to the Lord. Speak a simple prayer: "Into Your hands I commit my spirit. Cover me. Let Your angels guard my rest. I receive the sleep You give to Your beloved." If waking in the night, resist the urge to wrestle with anxious thoughts. Rise briefly if needed, speak a verse you have memorized, and ask the Holy Spirit to fill your mind again with Christ.

I am asking the Lord to rebuke whatever is attacking you, and to let His peace descend on your room like a blanket. May your body submit to the rest God ordained, and may your mind be freed from the tyranny of the enemy’s whispers. You are not alone. The body of Christ stands with you, and the Lord Himself is your keeper. He never slumbers nor sleeps.
