Protection from spiritual attacks

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for protection from relentless attacks on body and mind causing disturbances in sleep, in Jesus name Amen

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world and every spiritual force of darkness. The attacks you describe, disturbances in sleep, afflictions of body and mind, are not mere coincidences or natural struggles; they are spiritual warfare, and we must address them with the authority given to us through Christ.

The Word of God is clear: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). These attacks are real, but so is the power of Jesus’ name. You are not fighting alone, and you are not without defense. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that you might have life, and have it abundantly.

First, we must rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in the name of Jesus. The Bible says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). We take authority over every spirit of fear, torment, sleeplessness, and physical affliction that has been sent to harass you. We command them to leave now, in Jesus’ name! The blood of Jesus covers you, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily, as described in Ephesians 6:13-18. Stand firm with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit, and stay vigilant. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), but you are called to be sober and watchful.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is under spiritual attack. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We break every chain, every curse, and every assignment of the enemy sent to disturb their sleep, mind, and body. We command every spirit of fear, torment, and affliction to flee now in Jesus’ name!

Lord, we ask You to surround them with Your angels, to guard their mind with Your peace, and to strengthen their body with Your healing power. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the authority You have given them as a child of God. Remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Help them to stand firm in faith, to resist the devil, and to draw near to You, knowing that You will draw near to them (James 4:8).

Father, we also ask for wisdom and discernment. Show them any areas of their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold, whether through unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or fear, and lead them to repentance and restoration. Cleanse them with the blood of Jesus and fill them afresh with Your Spirit.

We thank You, Lord, that You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust (Psalm 91:2). We declare that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling. You have given Your angels charge over them, to keep them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10-11). We trust in Your protection, Your power, and Your love.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Do not grow weary, dear one. The battle is already won, and Jesus has given you the victory. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, stay in the Word, and surround yourself with believers who can stand with you in prayer. The enemy may be relentless, but our God is unshakable. You are not alone, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts stands with you. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).

We hear the strain in your request, and we’re holding this with you in prayer. Being hounded by relentless attacks, especially when they steal your sleep, is exhausting. The nights can feel long and dark when your body won’t rest and your mind won’t quiet. We want you to know you’re not alone in this battle, and we’re asking God to surround you right now.

Sometimes, in the watches of the night, the simplest acts can anchor us. A few people have shared that when sleep wouldn’t come, they turned on gentle Christian music or a recording of psalms, just low enough to fill the silence. Not as a quick fix, but as a way to let peace seep back into the room. You might try whispering something like, “Jesus, cover my mind,” when the attacks feel loud. It redirects your heart toward the One who watches over you without fail.

We’re praying that tonight, and each night, God Himself would fence you in. That you’d sense His presence guarding your body and quieting your thoughts. We ask for a deep, restoring sleep that leaves you stronger in the morning.

Jesus, we ask You to silence every voice that disturbs this beloved one’s sleep. Protect their mind and body from all that harasses them. Let them rest safe in Your care, and wake with fresh assurance that You are their shield. Amen.

The adversary strikes at the hour when the mind would sink into repose, knowing full well that a spirit exhausted and a body deprived of slumber make poor soldiers in the day of battle. Yet consider that sleep is, in its very essence, the gift of God, descending not from our own contrivance but from His sovereign hand. No man ever drifted into unconsciousness by sheer force of willing it; rather, it comes when all straining ceases and the soul falls back upon the faithfulness of its Keeper. The carnal mind may rage, and the wolf may prowl, but it remains a wolf still, whether it sleeps or wakes; the enemy is not transformed, only restrained by the Shepherd’s staff. Your cry, "Oh, that I could sleep," is a bad symptom only when left to fester in silence; brought to the throne of grace, it becomes the very groan of the Spirit within you, a burden borne by the One who never fails for lack of power.

Let not your heart be troubled by the remembrance of past wanderings, as though the flock were starved because the shepherd had nodded. The Lord does not despise the lame sheep, nor does He abandon the feeble mind that trembles at every lion on the road. He puts forth a gracious exertion of eye and mind to gather His worn-out ones, and as a mother comforts, so will He comfort you. He has laid down His life for the sheep, and shall He not with that same life freely give the gift of security? When you lie down, consider that the sleep of the beloved is a rest of entire dependence: the body sleeps, but the soul, anchored in Christ, does not slumber. The poor limbs are weary, and the throbbing brain craves the restoration of its strength, yet even as the prisoner forgets his manacles in unconsciousness, so your spirit shall rise recruited for the morrow’s trial. So He giveth his beloved sleep, not as the world gives, through narcotics of distraction, but as the Shepherd of Israel who in the day of drought consumed Himself and whose eyes departed not from His own. Sleep on, then, in the hollow of that hand which was pierced for you; your frame shall be refreshed, for in Jesus’ name the blessing of security is yours.

The turmoil you describe in your sleep is not a sign that God has abandoned you, but a mirror of the soul’s inner warfare. When the heart is choked by the cares of this life, by clinging to what must be surrendered, by entertaining those wild fancies and unreasonable desires, it churns like a sea that cannot rest, wave upon wave of anxiety, fear, and disturbance crashing in the quiet hours. The covetous, the grasping, the soul entangled in earthly passions knows no unbroken peace; its sleep is fitful, its dreams full of monstrous visions. But look to the life of those who have made themselves a living sacrifice, who have circumcised not their flesh but their evil thoughts. Their sleep is composed, their minds wakeful and collected the moment they open their eyes, for the great fear of God does not drown them in slumber but falls upon them lightly, giving true rest.

The attack you feel is not to be feared as something outside your control. He that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep, and He has commanded you, “Do not suffer your foot to be moved.” The suffering, the yielding, depends on you. Stand steadfast and unmovable. When the dread rises, recall how Christ Himself, in His agony, did not shrink back but glorified the Father’s name, teaching us that even in the grip of terror we are not to retreat. Dedicate yourself wholly to the Lord. Worship Him who is Spirit in spirit and in truth, offering not the cleansing of the outward body but the purity of the mind. Crucify those rising passions, slay the disordered affections that give these dark assaults their foothold. You have been made a partaker of the very Body that sits above, adored by angels. Shall that reality not anchor your soul? Let the eye of your soul become gentle and quick-sighted, wakeful and sharp, not sleepy nor supine. The haven of unshaken peace is already prepared for those who guard themselves and refuse to let the tempest enter within.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The struggle you describe cuts right to the heart of a battle every believer knows, a war being waged between the spirit and the flesh. When relentless attacks disturb your sleep and afflict both body and mind, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. But remember, you are not just a body with a mind; you are an eternal spirit with a soul and a body, and your true identity is hidden with Christ in God.

The body is a temporary tent, a vessel through which you experience this world, but it is not the essence of who you are. When your mind is assailed by fear, pain, or spiritual oppression, it often signals the enemy is trying to shift your focus onto bodily needs and distress, pulling your mind away from the things of the Spirit. The natural pull of the flesh is to obsess over sleep and physical relief, but the Spirit calls you to set your mind on things above, where Christ is seated. The real you is spirit, made alive to God, and in that realm you are already seated with Him, untouched by these attacks.

The weapon against such assaults is the truth of God’s word. Jesus met every temptation of Satan with “It is written.” When the enemy whispers lies and stirs up anxiety in the night, counter with Scripture. Declare that God has not given you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. Proclaim that He gives His beloved sleep. The truth acts as a shield and buckler; it guards your mind when the body’s clamor would drown out peace. Instead of letting your mind be dragged down by the body’s complaints, choose to meditate on the promises of God, especially as you lie in bed. Let His peace garrison your thoughts.

This body is in a corruptible state, groaning for redemption. These sleepless nights remind you that you are not yet home. The new body you will receive one day will need no sleep, will know no decay, and will be impervious to attack. That hope anchors the soul. In the meantime, present your body to God as a living sacrifice, and be transformed by the renewing of your mind. As you do, you will discover what is the good and perfect will of God for your life, even in this trial.

I pray for you now. May the Father of mercies shield you from every assault of the evil one. In Jesus’ name, I command the spirits that disturb your rest to flee. I ask the Lord to preserve your whole spirit, soul, and body blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit stand guard over your mind, filling it with thoughts of God’s faithfulness, so deeply that a profound peace, which surpasses all understanding, keeps your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Know that you are not alone; the body of Christ suffers together, and we stand with you in this fight. Amen.
