Protection from spiritual attacks

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world and every spiritual force of darkness. The attacks you describe, disturbances in sleep, afflictions of body and mind, are not mere coincidences or natural struggles; they are spiritual warfare, and we must address them with the authority given to us through Christ.

The Word of God is clear: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). These attacks are real, but so is the power of Jesus’ name. You are not fighting alone, and you are not without defense. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that you might have life, and have it abundantly.

First, we must rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in the name of Jesus. The Bible says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). We take authority over every spirit of fear, torment, sleeplessness, and physical affliction that has been sent to harass you. We command them to leave now, in Jesus’ name! The blood of Jesus covers you, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily, as described in Ephesians 6:13-18. Stand firm with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit, and stay vigilant. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), but you are called to be sober and watchful.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is under spiritual attack. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We break every chain, every curse, and every assignment of the enemy sent to disturb their sleep, mind, and body. We command every spirit of fear, torment, and affliction to flee now in Jesus’ name!

Lord, we ask You to surround them with Your angels, to guard their mind with Your peace, and to strengthen their body with Your healing power. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the authority You have given them as a child of God. Remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Help them to stand firm in faith, to resist the devil, and to draw near to You, knowing that You will draw near to them (James 4:8).

Father, we also ask for wisdom and discernment. Show them any areas of their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold, whether through unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or fear, and lead them to repentance and restoration. Cleanse them with the blood of Jesus and fill them afresh with Your Spirit.

We thank You, Lord, that You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust (Psalm 91:2). We declare that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling. You have given Your angels charge over them, to keep them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10-11). We trust in Your protection, Your power, and Your love.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Do not grow weary, dear one. The battle is already won, and Jesus has given you the victory. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, stay in the Word, and surround yourself with believers who can stand with you in prayer. The enemy may be relentless, but our God is unshakable. You are not alone, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts stands with you. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).

We hear the strain in your request, and we’re holding this with you in prayer. Being hounded by relentless attacks, especially when they steal your sleep, is exhausting. The nights can feel long and dark when your body won’t rest and your mind won’t quiet. We want you to know you’re not alone in this battle, and we’re asking God to surround you right now.

Sometimes, in the watches of the night, the simplest acts can anchor us. A few people have shared that when sleep wouldn’t come, they turned on gentle Christian music or a recording of psalms, just low enough to fill the silence. Not as a quick fix, but as a way to let peace seep back into the room. You might try whispering something like, “Jesus, cover my mind,” when the attacks feel loud. It redirects your heart toward the One who watches over you without fail.

We’re praying that tonight, and each night, God Himself would fence you in. That you’d sense His presence guarding your body and quieting your thoughts. We ask for a deep, restoring sleep that leaves you stronger in the morning.

Jesus, we ask You to silence every voice that disturbs this beloved one’s sleep. Protect their mind and body from all that harasses them. Let them rest safe in Your care, and wake with fresh assurance that You are their shield. Amen.

The adversary strikes at the hour when the mind would sink into repose, knowing full well that a spirit exhausted and a body deprived of slumber make poor soldiers in the day of battle. Yet consider that sleep is, in its very essence, the gift of God, descending not from our own contrivance but from His sovereign hand. No man ever drifted into unconsciousness by sheer force of willing it; rather, it comes when all straining ceases and the soul falls back upon the faithfulness of its Keeper. The carnal mind may rage, and the wolf may prowl, but it remains a wolf still, whether it sleeps or wakes; the enemy is not transformed, only restrained by the Shepherd’s staff. Your cry, "Oh, that I could sleep," is a bad symptom only when left to fester in silence; brought to the throne of grace, it becomes the very groan of the Spirit within you, a burden borne by the One who never fails for lack of power.

Let not your heart be troubled by the remembrance of past wanderings, as though the flock were starved because the shepherd had nodded. The Lord does not despise the lame sheep, nor does He abandon the feeble mind that trembles at every lion on the road. He puts forth a gracious exertion of eye and mind to gather His worn-out ones, and as a mother comforts, so will He comfort you. He has laid down His life for the sheep, and shall He not with that same life freely give the gift of security? When you lie down, consider that the sleep of the beloved is a rest of entire dependence: the body sleeps, but the soul, anchored in Christ, does not slumber. The poor limbs are weary, and the throbbing brain craves the restoration of its strength, yet even as the prisoner forgets his manacles in unconsciousness, so your spirit shall rise recruited for the morrow’s trial. So He giveth his beloved sleep, not as the world gives, through narcotics of distraction, but as the Shepherd of Israel who in the day of drought consumed Himself and whose eyes departed not from His own. Sleep on, then, in the hollow of that hand which was pierced for you; your frame shall be refreshed, for in Jesus’ name the blessing of security is yours.
