Protection from spiritual attacks

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for protection from spiritual attacks. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that Jesus came so that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). These disturbances in sleep and the relentless assaults on body and mind are not of God, and we stand firm in the authority of Christ to rebuke them in His mighty name.

The Word of God tells us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). We must put on the full armor of God so that we may stand against the schemes of the devil. The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit—which is the Word of God—are our defenses (Ephesians 6:13-17). We must also pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication, staying alert with perseverance (Ephesians 6:18).

We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Him (Isaiah 54:17). We take authority over every spirit of fear, anxiety, torment, and sleeplessness, commanding them to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord will give His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2), and we claim that peace for you now.

Father God, we come before Your throne of grace, asking for Your divine protection over this dear one. Surround them with Your holy angels to guard and defend them from every attack of the enemy. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them with Your might in their inner being so that Christ may dwell in their heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17). Fill them with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that they may walk worthily of You, pleasing You in all respects (Colossians 1:9-10).

We pray that they will resist the devil, and he will flee from them (James 4:7). May they submit themselves to You, God, and draw near to You, knowing that You will draw near to them (James 4:8). Let them be sober and self-controlled, watching in prayer, for the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). But we declare that the God of peace will soon crush Satan under their feet (Romans 16:20).

Lord, we also pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit. Let them be filled with all joy and peace in believing, that they may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). May they find rest in You, for You have said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). We thank You that You neither slumber nor sleep, and that You will keep them in perfect peace as their mind stays on You (Isaiah 26:3).

We rebuke every spirit of infirmity, oppression, and torment in the name of Jesus Christ. We speak life, health, and wholeness over their body and mind. May they be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in their inner being, so that they may be rooted and grounded in love (Ephesians 3:16-17). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37), and that nothing shall separate them from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39).

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we command every attack to cease and every assignment of the enemy to be dismantled. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours in Christ. We trust in You, our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). Amen.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap and lifting you up in prayer. We know that our God is a shield and a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). We're claiming God's promise in Psalm 91:1-2, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" We're asking the Lord to send His mighty angels to encamp around you, to guard and protect you from every attack (Psalm 34:7). We're also praying for a deep, peaceful sleep to come upon you, just as it did for the disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:43). We trust that God will hear our cries and grant you the rest and protection you need. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
