We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for protection from spiritual attacks. The Word of God reminds us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." These disturbances in sleep and the relentless assaults on body and mind are not mere coincidences—they are spiritual warfare, and we must stand firm in the armor of God.
First, we rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression that has been sent to disrupt peace and rest. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we declare that Jesus came so that we may have life abundantly. We take authority in the name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, and command every lying spirit to flee. There is no power in any other name—only in Jesus is there salvation, deliverance, and victory (Acts 4:12).
We pray for the full armor of God to be firmly secured: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). Let every piece be activated by prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we ask You to surround this beloved one with Your angels, as You promised in Psalm 91:11-12, "For He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Let Your presence be a shield and a fortress, a refuge in times of trouble (Psalm 91:2). We speak healing over the body and mind, for by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
We also encourage diligent time in the Word and in prayer, for the enemy seeks to wear down the saints through weariness. But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). Let the truth of Scripture be a lamp to the feet and a light to the path (Psalm 119:105), dispelling every shadow of doubt and fear.
Lord, we stand in agreement with this prayer, believing that You are faithful to deliver and protect. We thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. Strengthen this dear one to resist the devil, so that he will flee (James 4:7). Fill them with Your peace, joy, and the assurance that You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
