You are not merely a body fighting for survival. The real you is spirit, and God has given you this body and this mind as instruments. But when the body’s needs and fears rule uppermost, your mind becomes filled with anxiety over what you will eat, what you will wear, how you will pay, and how you can escape pain. That carnal mind is death, it is a separation in your consciousness from the life and peace of God. The prayer you have lifted up reveals the battle: you feel the war in your members, a law pulling against the new life Jesus has placed within you.
Spiritual protection begins by understanding which voice you are yielding to. If your mind is ruled by the urgent demands of the body or the attack of the enemy, you will only see the lack and the wound. But if your spirit, made alive in Christ, takes its rightful place in the upper story, your mind is filled with the things of the Spirit, which is life and peace. That shift is not denial; it is the placing of your body as a living sacrifice unto God, refusing to let its appetites or its pains dictate your identity. Jesus was broken so that you might be made whole. Do not look at the symptoms and miss discerning that body, the healing provision is already there, purchased through His suffering.
Regarding your body and mind, remember that this natural frame is a temporary tent. It inherits flaws and groans under the strain of a fallen world. You are not ignoring sickness, but you are looking past it to the truth that this body is not your permanent home. One day you will be clothed with a new body fashioned like His glorious body.
