đź’°Protection from Greed, Lk 12:15, Loving God as The Antidote, Mark 12:30, Rub-Off Your Love and Mercy Our Neighbors, Mark 12:31...

🙇🏻 Dear Lord Jesus in Heaven, thank You for warning us to beware of greed at all times, Lk 12:15. The goal of Your instruction is love 💕from a purified heart, a sincere faith and a good conscience, 1 Tim 1:5. The love of money is a scary thing to observe, having witnessed the truth of 1 Tim 6:9-10. Please "keep deception and lies far from us, give us neither poverty nor riches, but feed us what is sufficient for us," Prov 30:8. If riches increase, let us not set our heart on them, Ps 62:10, but rather be humble, know they are uncertain, and use them to be rich in good deeds, 1 Tim 6:17-18. Help us have contentment with godliness (which is a means of intangible riches), 1 Tim 6:6, since the entire earth is the Lord's, as well as those who dwell in it, Ps 24:1. Keep us from covetousness, Ex 20:17, and help us not love the world or anything in it lest the love of The Father be forfeited, 1 Jn 2:15. Help us see that is antithetical to our highest and chief goal to love You with everything we have and evangelize the lost and rub off Your love on our neighbors, Mark 12:30-31. Keep us from the desire for other things that choke out the Word of God, Mark 4:18-19. Keep us from temptation, Luke 11:4, sin, Zeph 3:13, 1 Cor 8:1, false believers, 2 Tim 3:5 and the evil one who blinds eyes, hearts minds and the world, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 1 Jn 5:18. Thank You in Jesus' Name, Phil 4:6-7, Amen, Rev 3:14, 2 Cor 1:20...

Contentment
True contentment means finding joy in what you have and trusting God’s provision for your needs.
We join you in this faithful and timely prayer for protection from greed and we say amen to the cry of your heart for contentment and love for God as the true antidote.

You have prayed according to wisdom when you asked the Lord to keep deception and lies far from you and to give you neither poverty nor riches but what is sufficient, as it is written in Proverbs 30:8. We agree that a man's life does not consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses as Jesus warned us in Luke 12:15 when He said Beware Keep yourselves from covetousness for a man's life doesn't consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses. The love of money truly is a root of all kinds of evil as taught in 1 Timothy 6:10 and we have all seen how those who have coveted after it have been pierced through with many sorrows.

We love how you have centered the antidote where Scripture centers it, in the greatest commandments. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength in Mark 12:30 and the second is like this You shall love your neighbor as yourself in Mark 12:31. When our hearts are full of love for God there is no room for covetousness which breaks the tenth commandment in Exodus 20:17 nor for love of the world which the Father warns us against in 1 John 2:15 where it says Don't love the world or the things that are in the world If anyone loves the world the Father's love isn't in him. Greed chokes the Word as Jesus taught in Mark 4:19 but love for God purifies the heart and leads to sincere faith and a good conscience as you quoted from 1 Timothy 1:5.

We also rejoice that you brought this request in the name of Lord Jesus in Heaven, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father and there is salvation in no other name as it is written in John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.

We pray together with you now.

Father in Heaven we thank You for Your warning against greed and for Your promise that godliness with contentment is great gain in 1 Timothy 6:6. We ask You to keep us and our brother or sister who prayed this from the desire for other things that choke the Word. Keep us from temptation and deliver us from the evil one as Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6:13 and keep us from evil as You promised in John 17:15 and 1 John 5:18. Give us contented hearts that do not set our hearts on riches if they increase as taught in Psalm 62:10. Help us to remember that the earth is the Lord's with its fullness in Psalm 24:1 and that all we have is Yours to steward. Make us humble and willing to be rich in good works and generous as You instruct those who are rich in this present age in 1 Timothy 6:17-18. Let our highest goal each day be to love You with everything we have and to rub off Your love and mercy on our neighbors and to faithfully share the gospel with the lost. We ask that You feed us with what is sufficient for us and keep our eyes on eternal riches that do not fade. We present these requests with thanksgiving as taught in Philippians 4:6-7 and trust Your faithful Amen which is Christ Himself in Revelation 3:14 and 2 Corinthians 1:20. In Jesus name we pray Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cultivate contentment by seeking first God's Kingdom and His righteousness in Matthew 6:33 and by practicing daily generosity and thanksgiving. Keep meditating on Hebrews 13:5 where we are told Be free from the love of money content with such things as you have for He has said I will in no way leave you neither will I in any way forsake you. As you love God wholeheartedly and love your neighbor, greed loses its power and joy in Christ grows.

Thank you for bringing this honest prayer before the Lord. We hear how much you want to stay free from the pull of wanting more, and to keep your love for God at the center and let that love spill over to those around you. That desire itself is a good sign of God at work in you.

What struck us is how you named contentment not as trying harder to want less, but as learning to trust that what God gives is enough and that He owns all things. When we really believe we are cared for, we can hold money and possessions more loosely and be free to do good with what we have, and to love our neighbors without keeping score.

One simple practice that has helped others with this same struggle is to pause once a week, briefly look at how you have used what God has provided, and ask Him where He might want you to be more generous or more restrained. Even a small, intentional act of kindness for a neighbor that week can keep your heart exercised in love rather than in wanting.

Father, we lift our friend to You. Keep their heart guarded and tender toward You. Give them a steady sense of Your provision and peace, and help them walk in humility and kindness toward others. Shape their desires to want You most, and keep them close to You each day. In Jesus name, Amen.
