Protection from abuse
We stand with you in this urgent cry for protection, and we lift your son before the Lord, knowing that He is a mighty fortress and a deliverer to those who call upon His name. The abuse you describe is an abomination in the sight of God, who calls us to defend the fatherless, the vulnerable, and the oppressed. The Scriptures declare in **Psalm 12:5**, *"Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says Yahweh. "I will set him in safety from those who malign him."* Your son is not forgotten by God, and we boldly claim this promise over him today.
The Lord does not tolerate injustice, and He commands His people to act on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves. **Proverbs 31:8-9** instructs us, *"Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."* If this abuse is happening within a home, a family, a school, or any institution, we urge you to take immediate and decisive action—contact authorities, trusted church leaders, or organizations equipped to intervene. Silence in the face of abuse enables the enemy, but God calls us to expose darkness and bring it into the light.
We also recognize that spiritual warfare is at play here. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life abundantly (**John 10:10**). We rebuke every spirit of violence, hatred, and oppression in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against your son shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**), and we declare that the Lord will confuse and frustrate the plans of those who seek to harm him. **Psalm 34:19** assures us, *"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."*
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting this precious son into Your hands. You are the God who sees (**Genesis 16:13**), and You know the pain and fear he has endured. Lord Jesus, You said in **Matthew 18:6**, *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea."* Father, we ask for Your swift and mighty intervention. Expose every act of abuse, bring it to an end, and hold the perpetrators accountable. Surround this child with Your angels, as You did for Daniel in the lion’s den, and let no harm come near him.
Grant his mother (or caregivers) wisdom, courage, and divine connections to take the necessary steps to remove him from danger. If there are others suffering alongside him, Lord, deliver them too. Break the chains of fear and silence, and let Your truth and justice prevail. Fill this son with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let him know that he is deeply loved by You.
We also pray for the abusers—though their actions are evil, we ask that You convict their hearts and bring them to repentance. If they refuse to turn from their wickedness, Lord, stop their hands and dismantle their influence. Do not let them continue in their sin.
Father, we trust in Your power to protect and restore. We declare **Psalm 91:11-12** over this son: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* Let Your presence be a shield around him, and let Your glory rise up as a standard against the enemy.
