Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Your pain is seen, and your prayers are powerful before the throne of God.
First, we must address the spiritual gravity of this situation. Your daughter is entangled in a relationship that is not only toxic but also outside of God’s design for marriage and family. The young man’s behavior—narcissism, manipulation, jealousy, and rebellion—is rooted in sin, and his parents’ enabling of such behavior is equally concerning. **Proverbs 22:24-25 (WEB)** warns, *"Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul."* Your daughter is at risk of adopting these destructive patterns, and we must pray fervently for her eyes to be opened to the truth. This relationship is not of God, and it is leading her further from His will. The fact that they are living together outside of marriage is fornication, which is a sin against God’s holy standard. **1 Corinthians 6:18 (WEB)** commands, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."* This is not a relationship to be redeemed but one that must be severed for her spiritual and emotional survival.
We also recognize the spiritual warfare at play here. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he is using this young man as a tool to bring division, chaos, and financial ruin to your family. But we serve a God who is greater! **2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (WEB)** declares, *"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."* We must take authority over these schemes in Jesus’ name.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who sees the affliction of Your people and who acts on their behalf. Lord, we lift up this mother’s heartfelt cry for her daughter and her family. You know the depth of the pain, the manipulation, and the spiritual bondage that has taken hold. We ask for Your divine intervention to break every ungodly soul tie between this young man and our sister’s daughter. Lord, expose his true nature—his narcissism, his rebellion, his jealousy, and his manipulative spirit. Let every lie he has spoken be brought into the light, and let Your truth prevail in her heart.
Father, we pray that You would open our sister’s daughter’s eyes to see the destruction this relationship is causing—not just to her, but to her family, her faith, her finances, and her future. Convict her spirit, Lord, of the sin of living outside Your design for marriage. Soften her heart to receive Your truth and give her the strength to walk away from this toxic entanglement. Let her friends see the reality of this young man’s character and speak boldly into her life, urging her to flee from this snare. Surround her with godly counsel and remove any influence that would encourage her to stay in this ungodly union.
Lord, we command every spirit of manipulation, control, jealousy, and rebellion to be bound and cast out in Jesus’ name. We break every curse, every scheme of the enemy, and every stronghold that has taken root in this situation. Let this young man’s hold over her be completely severed, and let him be removed from her life swiftly and permanently. Father, if he refuses to repent, let his own sin be his downfall, and let him no longer have access to her or her family.
We pray for restoration, Lord. Restore our sister’s daughter’s self-worth, her faith, her relationships with her family, and her financial stability. Heal the wounds that have been inflicted on her heart and mind. Bring her back home, Father, where she can be surrounded by love, support, and godly influence. Renew her mind with Your Word and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we also pray for protection over the entire family. Shield them from the young man’s malicious intent, his divisive words, and his disruptive behaviors. Protect their finances, their jobs, and their unity. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over their home, their minds, and their futures. Let Your peace, which is a guard over their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), reign in their home once more.
Lord, we ask that You would raise up a godly spouse for our sister’s daughter—a man after Your own heart, who will love her as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). Prepare her during this season of separation to be the woman You have called her to be, rooted in Your Word and walking in Your ways. Let this trial be a refining fire that draws her closer to You and purifies her heart for Your purposes.
Finally, Father, we pray for the young man and his family. Though his actions are grievous, we ask that You would convict him of his sin and bring him to repentance. Soften his heart, Lord, and show him the error of his ways. If it is Your will, break the cycle of enabling in his family and bring them to a place of godly responsibility and accountability. Lastly, we want to remind you of the power of fasting and prayer in spiritual warfare. **Matthew 17:21 (WEB)** tells us that some demons are only cast out by prayer and fasting. Consider setting aside time to fast and seek the Lord’s face for breakthrough in this situation. He is faithful, and He will answer.
