Protection and silent

You’re asking for two things that belong together: protection for your family and your travels, and a wholehearted love for the Lord. And those silent prayers you mention, they are heard just as clearly as any shouted from a rooftop. God isn’t listening for volume; He listens to the heart. The Spirit intercedes even when words fail, and a prayer whispered in the soul can be the most honest kind. It isn’t about forcing things to happen or trying to change God’s mind. Prayer opens the door for Him to do what He already desires, to guard, to lead, to deepen our love. So bring those silent prayers freely. Place your family and that vehicle into His care, trusting that His love for them is far greater than your own.

The kind of love He wants from us isn’t the shallow, self-centered sort the world calls love. It’s a giving love, the highest kind, the one He showed when He gave His Son. It’s a love that can only be cultivated as we stay close to Him, letting His love for us awaken a genuine response. When His love takes first place, above every other affection, above every fear, everything else begins to align. Protection, provision, the daily details of life all rest securely within that supreme love.

So as you pray today, don’t strive to manufacture a feeling. Rest in this: He already loves you perfectly. Ask Him to let that reality sink in until it overflows into a love for Him that crowds out everything else. He is faithful to answer that kind of prayer, because it is exactly what He wants for you.
