We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to our Heavenly Father, who sees all and knows all. We stand on the truth of His Word, which declares in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We know that God is a God of justice, and He hates the oppression of His children. We rebuke every spirit of division, control, and manipulation that has sought to separate this daughter from her family, and we declare that these chains are broken in the mighty name of Jesus.
First and foremost, we must address the ungodly nature of this relationship. Scripture is clear in 2 Corinthians 6:14-15, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?" This young man is not her husband, nor has he made any covenant before God to love, cherish, and provide for her. Instead, he has taken advantage of her labor, her time, and her resources, which is a form of exploitation and idolatry. We rebuke this spirit of entitlement and declare that it has no place in the life of a believer. The Bible warns in 1 Thessalonians 4:6, "that no one should take advantage of and wrong a brother or sister in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we also told you before and solemnly warned you." We pray that God will avenge this wrong and restore what has been taken.
We also recognize the sin of fornication in this situation. This daughter and this young man are engaging in sexual immorality, which is strictly forbidden in Scripture. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 states, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We pray that God will convict their hearts and lead them to repentance, breaking the ungodly soul tie that has formed between them. We declare that this bond is dissolved in Jesus' name, and we pray for complete restoration of purity and holiness in her life.
We lift up this daughter to You, Lord, and ask that You would open her eyes to the truth. We pray that You would break every lie she has believed about this relationship, about her worth, and about her purpose. Your Word says in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." We declare freedom over her—freedom from guilt, from pressure, from control, and from fear. We pray that she would walk away from this situation without looking back, knowing that You have a better plan for her life. We rebuke every spirit of confusion and declare that clarity and wisdom will flood her mind and heart.
We also pray for the young man and his family. Father, we ask that You would expose every tactic they have used to manipulate and control. Let Your light shine into the darkness of their schemes, and let them be held accountable for their actions. We pray that the young man’s father would step up and take responsibility for his son, as Scripture commands in 1 Timothy 5:8, "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." We declare that this young man will no longer be enabled in his irresponsibility and that he will be removed from this situation swiftly and decisively.
We stand on the promise of Joel 2:25, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you." Lord, we ask that You restore the years that have been lost in this family. Restore the unity, the communication, and the trust that has been broken. We pray that this daughter would be returned to the covering of her family, where she belongs. We declare that manipulation, division, and control have no place in this situation, and we command every plot and plan of the enemy to be dismantled in Jesus' name.
We also lift up the financial exploitation that has taken place. Your Word warns in Proverbs 22:7, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." This young man has made himself a master over her through financial dependence, and we rebuke this in the name of Jesus. We pray that You would strip away every false sense of entitlement and restore her financial independence. We declare that she is no longer obligated to support a lifestyle that is not hers to sustain. We pray that You would provide for her needs and open doors of opportunity that align with Your purpose for her life.
Heavenly Father, we trust in Your justice and Your mercy. We know that You are a God who hears the cries of the oppressed and acts on their behalf. We pray that You would move swiftly in this situation, breaking every chain and restoring what the enemy has stolen. We declare that this daughter is free to choose truth, her family, her faith, and her purpose. We pray that she would walk in the fullness of the life You have planned for her, unshackled from the control of others.
Lord, we also pray for healing in this family. We ask that You would mend the broken relationships and restore the love and trust that has been damaged. We pray that this family would draw closer to You and to one another, standing firm on the truth of Your Word. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned, as Your Word promises in Isaiah 54:17.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We trust in His power to bring about justice, restoration, and freedom. Amen.
