Protection against bullies

Fraireansil

Disciple of Prayer
I ask for protection against retaliation or just a simple prayer for a gay lgbtq folk. It’s hard when Mexican and dealing with societal roles . I pray for forgiveness and love towards those who have affected me because I don’t want to think Negatively towards them 🤍

We join with you in prayer for protection against bullying and retaliation, and we thank you for the desire God has placed on your heart to forgive and to love those who have hurt you rather than holding onto negative thoughts toward them. That desire is from the Lord and reflects His heart.

We pray for your safety and for peace from those who mistreat you. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. We ask Him to be your shield and to uphold you when you feel vulnerable or targeted. Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2. We pray that God would restrain the hands of bullies, that He would bring conviction where there is cruelty, and that He would guard your heart from fear and from any spirit of retaliation. Vengeance belongs to the Lord and we can trust Him to repay with justice, Romans 12:19, while we are called to love our enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44.

We also commend your prayer for forgiveness. Jesus teaches, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15. We pray God helps you to release bitterness and to walk in the freedom of forgiveness, not because the hurt was not real, but because Christ has forgiven us so greatly.

We want to speak to you in love and truth about what you shared regarding being gay and LGBTQ folk. We care for you deeply and we want God’s best for your life, and because we care we must share what Scripture teaches. God created marriage to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, He created them male and female, and said For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. Matthew 19:4-6, Genesis 2:24. Any sexual intimacy outside of that marriage, whether fornication, adultery, or homosexual practice, is sin before God. Scripture is clear, For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. Romans 1:26-27. And again, Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. That last verse gives great hope, such were some of you, but you were washed. God offers forgiveness and transformation to all who turn from sin and turn to Christ.

We understand you mentioned the added weight of being Mexican and dealing with societal roles and expectations. That can bring real pressure from family, community, and culture. We want to encourage you that your deepest identity is not found in culture or in sexuality, but in Christ. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. In Christ we are loved, valued, and given a new purpose that transcends every earthly label, and He will give you strength to honor your family and your heritage while walking in obedience to Him.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to share gently that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and salvation. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we encourage you to confess that you are a sinner in need of grace, believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose again, and call upon Him to be your Lord and Savior. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask for Your divine protection over his life, his body, his mind, and his heart. Surround him with Your angels, keep him safe from bullying, harassment, and retaliation, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. Heal the wounds that others have inflicted and fill his heart with Your perfect love that casts out fear. Give him grace to forgive as You have forgiven us, to bless those who have cursed him, and to overcome evil with good. We ask You to reveal Your truth about Your design for sexuality and marriage, and to draw him into a life of holiness and purity. Wash him, sanctify him, and justify him through the blood of Jesus. Help him to find his identity and worth in Christ alone, to navigate cultural and family pressures with wisdom and courage, and to walk in freedom as a new creation. We pray he would know Jesus as Lord and Savior and experience the peace and love that only Jesus can give. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, wanting to stay safe from bullying and retaliation while also not wanting to carry bitterness toward those who have hurt you. That desire to release negative thoughts and choose love instead is a hard and brave place to be, especially when you are also navigating family and cultural expectations that can feel very heavy.

What you described about forgiveness makes sense. There is often a decision we make to let go of getting even or holding onto revenge, and then there is the slower work of our emotions catching up. It is normal if hurt, anger or fear still surface even after you have decided you want to forgive. The feelings usually need more time and care than the decision itself does.

It helps to not carry this alone. If you do not already have someone safe to talk with regularly, we encourage you to identify one trusted person, perhaps a pastor, counselor, or mature friend who listens well and respects your safety. Having someone who knows what you are facing can make it easier to stay safe, sort through next steps, and keep perspective when the pressure builds. If bullying continues, keeping a simple private note of what happened and when can also be useful if you ever need to seek help.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus name. We ask for Your protection, for safety and dignity each day, and for wisdom for every step ahead. Ease the weight of fear and bring calm where there has been hurt. Help the decision to forgive grow into deeper peace in Your timing, and surround them with caring, trustworthy support. Amen.

🙇🏻 Give grace to us all to purposely draw near to You, so You draw near to us, James 4:8. You are the vine, we are the branches; the one who remains in You, and You in them bears much fruit 🍇 for apart from You we can do nothing, Jn 15:5. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Phil 4:13. Help us keep You holy in our hearts so as to be ready in season and out of season (at any time in any circumstance) to give an answer for the hope within us, with respect, 2 Tim 2:25, so ungodliness glorifies God that it had a good witness before You returned, 1 Pet 3:15-16. Deliver us from evil people and the evil one, temptation and sin. 2 Thes 3:2-3, Matt 6:13, Luke 11:4, John 17:15. Let love abound more in knowledge and discernment so we can choose the best in every situation that gives us a choice, so we may be sincere and blameless until Your Son's return, being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from union with Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God, Phil 1:9-11. Let us freely receive Your abundant love and freely give it to others, healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out demons, Matt 10:8. Not unto us, but to Your Name give glory, do whatever You please, but as the Earth You have given to the sons of men, help us rule in part with You even now, Ps 115:1-18. Perfect our love, for as You are, so also are we in this world, 1 John 4:17. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

Your request has been heard and we have carried it to the throne of grace. We understand the heaviness you carry, facing unkindness and threats from others, and feeling the added weight of family and cultural expectations as a Mexican man. It is a painful place to stand, and we thank you for speaking so plainly about it.

We rejoice to hear your desire not to harbor bitterness but to show forgiveness and love toward those who have harmed you. That desire is itself a hopeful sign, for our hearts by nature are deceitful and prone to enmity, and only the Holy Spirit can create us anew and teach us to love our enemies as Christ has loved us. Scripture says to stand in awe and put your trust in the Lord for everything, and where there is a true desire to fear His name, there is evidence of His gracious work begun. We pray that God will deepen that desire in you day by day, that you may be much alone with God and mighty on your knees, and find personal strength of mind to do the right.

You asked for protection against bullies and against retaliation, and we have prayed and will continue to pray that the Lord will be your keeper and your shelter. He hears the cry of those who put their trust in Him and He is able to deliver out of deep waters and from bitter anguish. We have asked Him to guard you, to restrain the hands of those who would harm you, to give you wisdom in difficult social settings, and to keep you from returning evil for evil.

We also pray for you as one who identifies as gay, and we do so in love and in truth. We hold fast to what Scripture teaches, that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that marriage is ordained by God as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with sexual intimacy belonging only within that union. Because we love you we cannot ask God to bless or affirm what His Word calls sin, for that would not be for your good. Instead we ask Him to bless you with what is truly good, that you would know His mercy, His forgiveness, and His power to make all things new. We pray that you would see your need of a new heart, confess your sin before the holy God who sees all, and look unto Jesus who shed His precious blood to open a new and living way for guilty sinners. He is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by Him, to change the heart, to renew the will, and to give love even for those who have wronged you.

May the Lord keep you safe from harm, soften the hearts of those around you, heal your wounds, and draw you ever nearer to Himself. Seek Him while He may be found, hear the faithful preaching of His Word, and trust Christ not only to protect you in this life but to set your feet upon the Rock for eternity.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for asking for prayer. It takes humility to ask for protection when you feel targeted and to ask for help to forgive when you have been hurt, and God sees both of those desires.

I will pray for your safety and for protection from bullies and from any retaliation. The Lord is a refuge for those who are mistreated, and He cares for those who are despitefully used and injured. You can bring your fear and your daily pressures to Him, including the weight you feel from cultural and family expectations and societal roles. He knows the particular challenges you face and He is near to those who call on Him.

Your desire not to hold on to negative thoughts and to show love toward those who have affected you reflects what Jesus teaches us. We are not called to seek retaliation, even when we have been wronged. The law said eye for eye to restrain aggression, not to give us permission to strike back, and Jesus calls us to a higher way of mercy. As you have been forgiven much through Christ, you are now freed to forgive others, not because the hurt was small, but because God has shown great compassion to us first. He forgave a debt we could never pay through the blood of His Son, and when we ask Him, He teaches us to have a gentle heart toward others and promises a great reward for walking in that gentleness.

God loves you and created you in His image, and He desires for you to know His forgiveness and wholeness through Jesus Christ alone. His design for our good, including His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and for sexual intimacy to belong only within that covenant, is given out of love and for our flourishing. Whatever feelings or identities we experience, we are all invited to find our deepest identity as beloved children of God and to walk in obedience to Him by His grace, trusting that His way leads to life. He does not leave us to do this in our own strength, but gives us grace to live in purity and in love for others.

Let me pray for you:

Father, I lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son who shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins. I ask that You be their protector and shelter from bullying and from all harm or retaliation. Surround them with Your presence, give them wisdom for difficult situations, and provide safe people who will support and encourage them. Fill their heart with Your love so that resentment does not take root, and teach them to forgive as You have forgiven them. Heal wounds from the past, ease the pressure of cultural expectations, and draw them closer to Yourself. Lead them into the fullness of life found in knowing Christ and walking in Your truth, and give them peace, strength, and hope each day. Amen.

Keep bringing your cares to the Lord in prayer, stay rooted in Scripture, and seek fellowship with faithful believers who will care for you, protect you, and walk with you in following Jesus. If bullying continues or you feel unsafe, please also reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or other safe person near you who can help you practically. You are not alone, and God hears your prayer for love and forgiveness.
