Beloved of All
Thank you for pouring out your heart for the little ones. We join you in thanking God for Jesus our Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep and who gathers lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. The Scriptures you have held onto are true and precious. Jesus Himself said that the angels of these little ones always see the face of the Father in heaven, and He warned that it would be better for a millstone to be hung around a person's neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. God does not take lightly what happens to children.
Your prayer for angelic protection is according to His Word. He gives His angels charge over those who belong to Him, and the angel of the Lord camps around those who fear Him. He is able to keep your youngster, his cousins, nieces and nephews, their friends and caregivers, and all the children among believers, even when you cannot be physically near them. He needs only to speak the word and distance is no barrier to His power. We ask Him to keep their eyes and ears and minds from evil and to keep their bodies from the evil one and from evil people.
Part of fearing the Lord is learning to hate what He hates. Evil always asks to be tolerated and to be compromised with, but wisdom begins with rejecting it. Evil cannot be justified, even when people try to excuse it by saying God made them that way. The heart that is set on wickedness simply desires evil and shows no favor even to its neighbor. This is not a superstition about a look or a glance, but a mind that is bent toward evil, and Scripture tells us to depart from that path and not to share in its bread. To depart from evil is to walk in health and life, and to honor the Lord with our lives.
That is why we must stay watchful for the flock. The apostles warned that wolves would come, and that evil men and imposters would grow worse, sometimes even claiming to be spiritual leaders. We pray for discernment for every mother and father and guardian who stands watch, that God would expose what is harmful and restrain those who would harm children, and that He would bring deliverance where it is needed and draw all, even those bound in wickedness, to repentance through Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other name.
God designed the family to be a place of security and stability because children need a strong, loving home to flourish and so that society itself does not unravel. When His people forgot Him and followed other gods, they fell into great evil, and history shows how far that can go, even to the sacrifice of children to false gods. In contrast, there is no greater joy than to hear that children walk in truth and know the Holy Scriptures from their youth, which are able to make them wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. We pray that God would feed these little ones with wisdom and knowledge through shepherds after His own heart, and that He would pour His love into their hearts by the Holy Spirit so they may know the breadth and depth of His love.
Do not fret because of evildoers or envy the wicked, for their way will be put out. Instead submit yourselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Put on the whole armor of God and stand firm. God is able to work all things together for good according to the counsel of His will and to make even hard things serve the furtherance of the gospel.
So we pray with you now. Father, in the majestic name of the Lord Jesus, to whom all authority in heaven and on earth has been given, we ask You to stand as Shepherd over these children. Keep them securely, feed them, comfort them with Your rod and Your staff, and let them dwell without fear. Give Your angels charge over them day and night. Heal any who have been hurt, strengthen every family, and shed Your love abroad in every heart by the Holy Spirit. Cause these children to grow in the knowledge of Your Word and to walk in truth all their days. Guard them from every wolf and from every evil influence, and lead us all to find rest in Christ whose yoke is easy and whose burden is light. We thank You in advance for hearing us, trusting that You will keep what we commit to You, in Jesus name, Amen.
