We join together with you in this fervent prayer for our little ones and we say amen to your cry for their protection, for their knowing the Holy Scriptures from their youth, and for the love and angelic covering of our Lord Jesus over them.
We agree that our children are precious in the sight of God and that Jesus Himself warns us solemnly about their value, for it is written, It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble, Luke 17:2, and again, See that you don't despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven, Matthew 18:10. How comforting to know that their angels always behold the face of the Father, and that He will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways, Psalm 91:11.
We also stand on the promise that from infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus, 2 Timothy 3:15. We pray that our little ones, your youngster, his cousins, nieces and nephews, and all the children of our extended families and of those who gather with us in prayer, would be rooted in the Word early, that they would know the love of God, for herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, 1 John 4:10, and that the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us, Romans 5:5.
We thank the Father with you for Christ our Good Shepherd, for Jesus said, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep, John 10:11, and My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, John 10:27. We rest in the prophecy, He will stand, and will shepherd his flock in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh, his God. They will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth, Micah 5:4. He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, Isaiah 40:11, and Yahweh is our shepherd and we shall not want, Psalm 23:1.
We pray together now for these precious ones.
Father in heaven, in the mighty and majestic name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to whom all authority has been given in heaven and on earth, Matthew 28:18, we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up every child represented in this prayer. We ask You to place Your hedge of protection around them, to command Your angels concerning them, for Your Word says the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them, Psalm 34:7, and that angels are all ministering spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation, Hebrews 1:14. Keep them from the evil one, for we know that he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him, 1 John 5:18, and deliver them from unreasonable and evil men, 2 Thessalonians 3:2, and from evil people and impostors who will proceed from bad to worse, 2 Timothy 3:13, even from savage wolves who would seek to harm the flock, Acts 20:29.
Lord Jesus, be their Shepherd, comfort them with Your rod and staff, feed them with wisdom and knowledge as You promised to give shepherds according to Your heart, who shall feed them with knowledge and understanding, Jeremiah 3:15, and shepherd the flock of God which is among us, 1 Peter 5:2. Heal any hurt youth among us, strengthen mothers and fathers to guard what You have entrusted to them, and grant us all power through Your Spirit to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, length, height, and depth, and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, Ephesians 3:18-19.
We submit ourselves to You, God, we resist the devil, believing Your promise that he will flee from us, James 4:7, and we pray that You would bind every wicked influence that would seek to cause these little ones to stumble, and draw both the children and those who would harm them to the rest that is found only in Jesus, for You have said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. Work all things together for good for those who love You, Romans 8:28, and for the furtherance of the gospel, Philippians 1:12, according to the counsel of Your will, Ephesians 1:11.
We thank You in advance, Father, trusting that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we shall receive, Mark 11:24, and we cast all our cares on You because You care for us, 1 Peter 5:7, and for Your sheep. Keep their eyes, ears, and hearts pure, keep their bodies and minds from evil, clothe them with the whole armor of God, Ephesians 6:11, that they may dwell securely all their days. In the name of Jesus our Good Shepherd and our Strong Deliverer we pray, Amen.
