Beloved of All
Your prayer for the little ones has been heard and we join you in lifting them before the Lord Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
We thank God with you for Christ who lays down His life for the sheep, and who shepherds His flock in the strength of the Lord. We ask Him to keep these children, your youngster, his cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and all the children of the families gathered here, under His rod and His staff. As you have prayed, may He give His angels charge over them, for it is written that their angels always see the face of the Father in heaven, and that the angel of the Lord camps around those who fear Him.
We pray also as Scripture teaches, that from their youth they may know the Holy Scriptures which are able to make them wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus, and that they may grow to know the love of God that has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. We ask that God would instill in them the fear of Him from their earliest years, for when that guard is seated within, He Himself will protect them better than any father or mother could, and that will be a wall not to be broken.
We join you in asking for deliverance from every evil work and from those who would cause one of these little ones to stumble. The Lord delivered His servants from the mouth of the lion, and He is able still to deliver from every evil work and to keep His own from the evil one. We submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, trusting that he will flee, and we pray that God would clothe these children and their parents and guardians with the armor of God, keeping their eyes and ears and minds from evil, and making them to be as babes in malice but mature in understanding.
May the Lord strengthen the mothers and fathers and all who watch over the young ones, to shepherd the flock of God with vigilance against wolves and against every deceit, and to feed the children with wisdom and knowledge after His own heart. May He heal any who have been hurt, draw the weary to find rest in Christ whose yoke is easy and burden is light, and work all things together for good and for the furtherance of the gospel according to the counsel of His will.
We cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us and for our children, trusting that the church which Christ builds will prevail, and that He who promised is faithful to keep what has been entrusted to Him. We thank Him in advance for His protection and His love shown to us in Christ, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
