Keep hearing these words that, 'No everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved' Referring to Matthew 7:21-23.

Dear God,

Set our hearts on You and give us discernment to know if we need to repent of anything that may be blocking salvation in Christ in Jesus' name

Lord help us to forgive anyone who has hurt us or mistreated us in Jesus' name

Remove pride, bitterness, resentment from our hearts in Jesus' name

I loose forgiveness, goodness, peace and help us to pray for those who have wronged us in Jesus' name

Lord release Your grace so we can walk in continue love and respect for others and help us to treat our enemies the way Jesus would as it is written in Luke 6:27-28 in Jesus' name

Heal our hurts and remove burdens that block forgiveness in Jesus' name

Thank You Lord for answered prayer in Jesus' mighty name.

We join you in taking this warning seriously before the Lord, for what you are hearing is indeed written in Scripture and it is meant to awaken us to examine ourselves.

You referenced Matthew 7:21-23 where Jesus said, Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works? Then I will tell them, I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity. This is a sobering word, and we understand why the Holy Spirit would bring it to your remembrance.

At the same time we remember Romans 10:13 which says, For, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. There is no contradiction here. True calling on the Lord is not mere lip service or outward religious activity, but a heart that has been humbled, that trusts in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, repents of sin, and desires to obey Him. Faith that saves is faith that transforms, and Jesus said in Matthew 7:20, Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

We hear your heart crying out for discernment and repentance, and that itself is evidence of the Spirit working in you. We pray with you for that cleansing and forgiveness you have asked for.

We pray together that God would search our hearts as in Psalm 139:23-24, Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. We ask the Father to reveal anything that would hinder our fellowship with Him, that we may confess it openly, for 1 John 1:9 promises, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We ask the Lord to remove pride, bitterness and resentment from our hearts, for Hebrews 12:15 warns that a root of bitterness can trouble us and defile many, and Ephesians 4:31-32 calls us to Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. We loose forgiveness and goodness and peace over our hearts in Jesus name, and we choose to pray for those who have hurt and mistreated us, just as Jesus commanded in Luke 6:27-28, But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.

We also pray that God would heal our hurts and lift every burden that makes forgiveness feel impossible, for He gives grace to the humble as James 4:6 says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. We ask for His grace to walk in continual love and respect for others, even for our enemies, treating them as Jesus would.

Father, we thank You that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and that You desire that we examine ourselves as 2 Corinthians 13:5 says, Test your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Help us not to trust in our own works or words, but to truly know You and be known by You, to do Your will from a heart of love and obedience. Keep us from deception and give us discernment to test every spirit and every word we hear, holding fast to what is good and true according to Your Word. Let us bear fruit in keeping with repentance and walk humbly before You all our days.

We thank You Lord for hearing and answering this prayer, for Your mercy endures forever and Your grace enables us to forgive as we have been forgiven. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in us in Jesus mighty name, amen.

Thank you for bringing this burden so honestly. We hear how weighty those words have felt and how sincerely you want your heart, and the hearts of those around you, to stay soft and close to Jesus. That willingness to ask Him to search you and to show you what to release is itself a humble and good place to be.

What you prayed about forgiveness touches something many of us walk through. There is often a clear decision to release a debt and to lay down the right to get even, which you can make before God even while feelings are still raw. Then there is the slower work of the heart, where resentment and hurt are gradually eased and replaced with compassion and peace as you keep bringing the person and the memory to Him. Bitterness tends to grow when hurt is held onto and replayed, and over time it hardens the heart of the one carrying it more than it changes the one who caused it, so your prayer to let it go is wise and protecting.

A simple step that may help this week is to set aside a quiet moment and ask the Lord to bring to mind just one hurt or one attitude He wants to address first, not everything at once. When something comes to mind, tell Him plainly that you choose to forgive, and then ask Him in the days ahead to keep softening your emotions as you continue to pray for that person in the way Jesus taught.

Father, we ask You to search our hearts with gentleness and show us what needs repentance and release. Lift off pride, bitterness and resentment and pour Your grace into us to walk in love and respect toward others, even those who have wronged us. Heal the hurts that still ache and give us clear discernment to follow You faithfully. In Jesus' name, amen.

The warning you have heard from Matthew 7 carries a solemn weight, and it is wisdom to give heed to it and to examine the heart with great care and jealousy. Our Lord shows that a mere saying of Lord, Lord is not enough, for many may profess His name and yet not be members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. To be joined to Christ is a living, loving, lasting union, and where that union exists, love to Christ and love flowing from Christ will be found together.

You have prayed well to ask for discernment concerning repentance, for we must not undervalue repentance. It is a blessed grace of God the Holy Spirit, and it is absolutely necessary unto salvation. Yet there is a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of sinful nature, which is not better than the vomit of a dog, and there is a despairing repentance that has no trace of submission, no touch of faith, no breath of love. True repentance, the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts, gives God glory. It makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work. It leads you to look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, and to avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for you. Faith and repentance are inseparable, and where one is wrought by grace, the other will be found.

Remember also that salvation is of the Lord. The whole of the work whereby men are saved from their natural estate of sin and ruin and are made heirs of eternal happiness is of God, and of Him only. The plan of salvation was devised before the existence of angels, and no human intellect assisted Him in it. If salvation is of grace, then it is clear that our sin is by no means an impediment when we cast ourselves upon free mercy. Your faith and your repentance must all be given you, or else you will neither believe nor repent aright. Therefore look not to your own tears or resolves, but to Christ who suffered for sins not His own, who died to atone, and in whom alone there is salvation. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

And be assured, there is forgiveness with God. It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. However sinful your life may have been up until now, there is forgiveness with God even for you. It is complete forgiveness, and those who stand before the throne clothed in white can say, we have washed our robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Wherever forgiveness comes, there comes with it a turning from sin, a fresh view of sin, and a deep sense of gratitude to God.

I join my prayer to yours before the throne of grace.

O Lord, set this heart upon Thyself and grant true discernment by Thy Spirit. Work in us that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which gives Thee glory, and keep us from every false and fleshly sorrow. Show us if there be anything that would hinder our walk with Christ, and lead us to look out of self to Jesus alone for salvation, which is all of grace.

Father, grant grace to forgive as we have been forgiven. Remove pride, bitterness and resentment from the heart, and heal the hurts and burdens that make forgiveness hard. Loose in us a spirit of goodness and peace, and teach us to pray for those who have wronged us, to love our enemies, to do good to them which hate us, to bless them that curse us, and to pray for them which despitefully use us, as it is written in Luke. Let the love of Christ flow through us, that we may love others for Christ's sake and treat them as Jesus would.

Thank you for sharing this burden and for bringing these scriptures before the Lord with such honesty. Hearing the warning of Matthew 7:21-23, that not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but only the one who does the will of the Father, is meant to stir us to sober self examination, not to despair, but to come more fully to Christ in faith and obedience.

Your prayer for discernment and for a heart set on God is right and good. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, by His grace received through faith, and that faith shows itself in repentance and in a life that seeks to do His will. Godly sorrow, as Scripture says, works repentance unto salvation without regret. There is a great difference between worldly regret and true repentance. True repentance turns from sin, confesses it before God, and trusts His mercy to cleanse and restore. The Church is like a spiritual bath where stains of the soul are washed away as we come again and again to God in humble repentance. If you sense anything blocking fellowship with Him, bring it into the light, name it before Him, and ask for His forgiveness and help to turn from it.

You also asked for help to forgive and to be freed from pride, bitterness and resentment. This is central to the Christian life. The Lord teaches us to forgive not seven times but seventy times seven, which means forgiveness without limit, perpetual and always. And Scripture warns about a root of bitterness, because a bitter root cannot bear sweet fruit. Everything that grows from it will be bitter. When we allow resentment to remain, it poisons the whole heart. When we release it to God and choose forgiveness, He can heal the hurt and remove the burden that makes forgiveness feel impossible.

Loving and praying for those who have wronged us, as Jesus commands in Luke 6:27-28 to love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you, is not first of all for the sake of the enemy but for obedience to God and for our own good. To imitate Him in this is to love God who gave the command. It does not mean that wrongs were not real or that boundaries are not needed, but it does mean we release vengeance to God and ask Him to bless others with the same grace we have received.

Let us pray together:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, set our hearts fully on You. Grant discernment to see what is pleasing to You and give grace for true repentance where it is needed. Wash away sin and cleanse the conscience through the blood of Christ. Remove pride, bitterness and resentment, and heal the hurts that have made forgiveness difficult. Pour out Your grace so that forgiveness, goodness and peace may take root instead. Teach us to love and respect others, and to love our enemies as You have commanded, to bless and to pray for those who have wronged us. Lift the burdens that block forgiveness and make our lives fruitful in obedience to Your will. We ask this trusting in Your mercy and grace, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
