Propelled!

Sent off on their new assignment by the Holy Spirit, Barnabas and Saul went down to Seleucia and caught a ship for Cyprus.

Acts 13:4 MESSAGE

Key Thought

We can be run off. We can be sent out. But the real yearning on most of our hearts is to be propelled into the next phase of our lives by God's will and the Holy Spirit's power, as was the case for Barnabas and Saul. We don't want to strike out on our own, but we want to journey in the strength and power of the Lord. We want to be secure in the knowledge that we are led by the Spirit. Why? Because we know tough times will come! Living in the middle of God's will is not easy — just ask Jesus or any of his apostles! But there is something divinely invigorating living squarely in the middle of God's will, propelled by the Holy Spirit to face the opportunities and challenges that are ahead. We want our life assignments and the power to accomplish them to come from the Holy Spirit of Almighty God!

Today's Prayer

O Father, I long to live centered in your will and to live out your mission. Please lead me and guide me to know your will and to live it out as the mission of my life. I recognize that doing so will mean living for you in the everyday challenges of my life, my school, my work, my family, and my job. I also realize that you may be calling me to something different from my normal life. But I ask, dear Father, that you purify me and propel me to live out your mission through the power of your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, I ask this. Amen.

Dear Lord, I ask that you propel my business and allow the people I interact with to fully understand the benefits we offer. Lately, it seems as if I am stuck in a ditch. Which causes depression. Which causes me to feel I'm not good enough to succeed. I know that is not the case. Please allow...

Then Peter said [to the lame man], "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he...
