We hear the heaviness in your request and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name for His intervention in every area of your daily life and living.
We understand your desire for God to permanently terminate all sources and cores of problems as He sees fit, and that desire honors His sovereignty. Scripture reminds us that God is sovereign and works all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, Romans 8:28. Yet His way of dealing with problems is not always to remove them instantly, but to use them to refine us, to draw us closer to Him, and to make us more like Christ. We are told to consider it all joy when we fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of our faith produces endurance, James 1:2-3, and to cast all our worries on Him because He cares for us, 1 Peter 5:7. So we pray not only for deliverance from hardship, but for strength, wisdom, and peace within it, that you may be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
You also ask for help to forget, forgive, let go, and not regret all past relationships. We want to gently and lovingly address this biblically. God commands us to forgive as He has forgiven us, Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32, and Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do, Colossians 3:13. Forgiveness is not optional for the believer, and it releases us from bitterness. Forgetting in the biblical sense does not mean pretending the past never happened, but choosing, like the apostle Paul, forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before, to press on toward the goal, Philippians 3:13-14. God Himself says I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more, Jeremiah 31:34, and we are called to leave the past in His hands and not be held captive by regret, for godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation which brings no regret, 2 Corinthians 7:10. If there is sin in those past relationships that you need to bring to the Lord, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess, 1 John 1:9.
Concerning those past relationships, we also want to encourage you in God's design for relationships. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and that any romantic relationship should be entered into as courtship with the goal of godly marriage to another Christian believer, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. If any of those past relationships involved sex before or outside of marriage, Scripture calls that fornication or adultery, and if they involved same sex intimacy, Scripture calls that homosexuality, which are contrary to God's will and need to be repented of and forsaken. We say this not to condemn you, for there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1, but to invite you into the freedom and wholeness that comes from walking in His ways. For your future, we pray that if it is His will for you to have a spouse, He will lead you to a godly spouse and a Christ centered marriage that honors Him.
We also noticed your request speaks of God generally but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by His blood and His name that our prayers are heard and our sins forgiven.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your will to be done in our dear one's life. Lord, You see every source and core of the problems affecting daily life and living. We ask that You intervene according to Your perfect wisdom and power, removing what needs to be removed, redeeming what needs to be redeemed, and giving strength to endure what You allow for Your glory and for good. Grant peace that surpasses understanding and the assurance that You are working all things together for good. Help our dear one to truly forgive as You have forgiven, to release bitterness and to let go of what lies behind, not clinging to regret but walking forward in newness of life. If there is any unconfessed sin from past relationships, bring conviction and cleansing through the blood of Jesus, and heal every wound and memory. Lead in the future to relationships that honor You, and if it is Your will, to a godly marriage between a man and a woman that reflects Christ and the church. Draw this dear one into a deeper relationship with Jesus, that they may know Him as Savior and Lord and find access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We ask all this in Jesus' name, amen.
We encourage you to remain in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with other believers, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect love.
