We join you in bringing this burden before the Lord, for we know how painful it is when there is strife between a mother and her son and how deeply you desire to see that relationship restored and made whole. We thank you for your trust that God can solve everything, because He truly can. With God all things are possible and His heart is for reconciliation, peace, and love within the family.
Scripture shows us God's design for the relationship between parents and children. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise Ephesians 6:1-2. And to parents He says, you fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord Ephesians 6:4. We are also told, Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they will not be discouraged Colossians 3:21. This reminds us that both love and respect, patience and gentleness, are needed on both sides. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. And we can bring every anxiety about this situation to Him, because He cares for us. Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.
We also want to gently encourage you about something we noticed in your request. You called upon God, which is good, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share why this is so important, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. When we pray in Jesus name we come through the one who died for our sins and rose again, and who alone makes us right with God. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and confess Him as Lord, for that is how we are saved Romans 10:9. It is through Him that our prayers are heard and our relationships can be truly healed by God's grace.
We encourage you to continue to pray for your son by name, to seek the Lord for wisdom, and to approach your son with humility, forgiveness, and open communication. Ask the Lord to show you if there are any words or actions that have caused hurt, and be willing to ask for forgiveness as well as to extend it, as God in Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32. Speak the truth in love, listen without anger, and invite God into every conversation.

Father, restore what has been broken and make their relationship as a mother and son normal, healthy, and honoring to You. Help this mother to trust You more each day and to cast all her cares upon You, knowing You care for her. Draw both mother and son closer to Jesus, that Your peace which passes all understanding would guard their hearts. We ask that Your will be done in their lives and that their restored fellowship would be a testimony of Your grace and power to reconcile. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing this burden before the throne of grace. Your trust that God can solve everything is well placed, for He is the God of peace who has prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation.
The Scripture tells us that the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves are full of healing virtue. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction, and both are bestowed on the Lord's people. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He first said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. So we look to Him not only to mend what is broken between you and your son, but to work a deeper healing in each heart through pardon and grace.
Our Lord delights in perfect restoration. When the prodigal son came back and his father had kissed him, he was to his father as if he had never gone away, as if he had never wasted his substance. And when Peter had fallen so grievously, the Lord turned and looked upon Peter, and that divine look did the deed. It severed him from the crowd and brought him to repentance, and soon after the Lord restored him with a threefold charge to feed His sheep. He was down, but he was soon up again, scarcely down before his Father had him up again. Such is the mercy we ask for you, that a look from Christ would melt, forgive and restore, and make the relationship whole again.
We will pray that the Lord will do this work in you both. Ask Him first to forgive and to heal your own heart, and to give you the meekness and tenderness of Christ in speaking and listening. The word of reconciliation has been committed to us, and we want that reconciliation to be worked at once by the power of the Holy Spirit. Go to your son in that spirit, with a loving and humble word, confessing where you have erred, freely forgiving where you have been grieved, and seeking to hear as well as to be heard. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, so keep the Word open between you and let prayer be the daily conduit by which abundant streams of healing flow down into your home.

You have shown us in Christ that You put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself, and that You receive sinners graciously and love them freely. Look now upon this mother and her son. Forgive their sins, heal their broken hearts, and take their sicknesses upon Yourself. Let the healing virtue of Your grace be infused into them and work health and cure till all bitterness and distance are taken away. Grant them a spirit of repentance and forgiveness, turn their hearts toward one another, and restore them as a mother and son who walk together in love and in the fear of the Lord. Make their home a place where the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our peace and our healer, Amen.
