We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to our Heavenly Father, who sees all and knows the depths of every heart. The struggles with pride and mental issues mentioned here are not to be taken lightly, for pride is a snare that blinds even the most well-intentioned, and mental afflictions can be a heavy burden that only the Lord can fully heal. We recognize that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood alone that we are cleansed and made whole. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and so we approach God with reverence, humility, and faith in Christ.
Father, we lift up the team involved in this apartment matter—the owner, the legal representative, and the lawyers. You know their hearts, and You know who among them may yet be called to salvation. We ask that You soften their hearts to receive Your truth, for "The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7). If there are those among them who are chosen but not yet called, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, that they may know the freedom and peace that comes only from a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We also lift up those who struggle with pride and mental issues, whether they are Christians or unsaved. Pride is a destructive force, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). We pray that You would break the chains of pride in their lives, that they may see their need for You and turn from their ways. For those battling mental afflictions, we ask that You bring Your healing touch, for You are the Great Physician. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). May they find comfort in Your presence and strength in Your Word.
Lord, we confess that dealing with foolishness and lies can be exhausting, but we ask for Your patience to endure. Your Word tells us, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth" (1 Corinthians 13:4-6). Help us to reflect Your love in all our interactions, even when it is difficult. Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9).
We pray for repentance in the hearts of those who have harmed the tenants. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). May they turn from their ways and seek Your face, for You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness (Psalm 103:8). Let Your grace and mercy overflow in this situation, that Your name may be glorified.
Father, we ask that You refine the character of all involved. "But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out like gold" (Job 23:10). Let this trial be a refining fire that purifies and strengthens, drawing each person closer to You. May Your will be done in this process, and may Your purposes be fulfilled. We trust in You, for You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of pride and any demonic influence that may be at work in this situation. We stand on Your Word, which declares, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). We command every lying spirit, every spirit of deception, and every spirit of division to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against the tenants or against Your will shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We pray for the tenants, that You would grant them wisdom, peace, and protection. "The Lord will give grace and glory. No good thing will he withhold from those who walk blamelessly" (Psalm 84:11). May they walk in integrity and trust in You, knowing that You are their defender and provider.
Heavenly Father, we surrender this situation into Your hands. We trust in Your justice, Your mercy, and Your perfect timing. May Your name be exalted, and may Your kingdom come in this matter. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
