Pressure

Beloved of All
I’m being pressured to pay an inflated amount of back rent snd at this point paying iit us the only option. I have prayed about this situation inJesus name for over one year now since it began but it keeps getting worse. So I will just pay the false amount because bo one can help me in this situation snd this is a fact. I will also sign any suxunsbra they give me. No lawyer or church csn help and mtg health is deteriorating. Tired of all of it. And as far as begging bread if I hadn’t applied for government aid I would be far behind on other bills and hungry. My Faith is totally gone

We hear the heaviness in your words and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We are grateful that you have been praying in Jesus' name for over a year, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Your continued calling on His name is not in vain, even when the situation has grown worse and your heart feels exhausted.

We understand the pressure you feel to pay an inflated and false amount and to sign whatever is put before you just to make it end, especially as your health is suffering. We want to gently encourage you not to give in to signing something you know to be false simply out of despair. God calls us to truthfulness and He is a defender of those who are oppressed. You shall not give false testimony. Exodus 20:16 and Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. Proverbs 12:22. To sign a false statement would be to bear witness to what is not true, and it could also bring further legal harm upon you. We pray for wisdom and courage to speak the truth in love, Ephesians 4:25, even under pressure, and for God to make a way where you currently see no way. We know it feels like no lawyer or church can help and that no one can help you, but that is not a fact in God's economy. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 and Yahweh executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed. Psalm 103:6. Even when human help fails, He does not fail.

We also hear your weariness and your words that your faith is totally gone and that you are tired of it all. We do not rebuke you harshly for feeling this way, for many of the faithful have felt this same despair, but we do lovingly correct the thought that you are abandoned or that faith must be measured by immediate relief. When we are weak, He remains faithful. If we are faithless, he remains faithful. He can't deny himself. 2 Timothy 2:13. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18. We have all felt at times that our strength is gone, and God invites us in that place to cast our burden on Him. Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. Psalm 55:22 and Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7. Your feelings of faithlessness do not disqualify you from His care.

You mentioned begging bread and needing government aid. Please do not carry shame for receiving help to pay bills and to have food. God often provides through various means, and seeking lawful aid in a time of need is not begging in the sense of being forsaken. As it is written, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25. He is your provider, and He can use many channels to sustain you.

We also pray for your health which you say is deteriorating under this stress. Jesus invites those who are worn out to come to Him. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29. We pray that even now He would lift this crushing pressure and restore strength to your body and peace to your mind. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.

Together we pray.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ on behalf of our dear one who is pressed down on every side. Lord, You see the unjust demand for inflated back rent and the pressure to sign what is not true. You see the sleepless nights, the failing health, and the heart that feels faith has run out. We ask You to be their defender and advocate where no human advocate seems available. Open doors for wise and honest counsel, for fair treatment, and for protection from exploitation and coercion. Give them clarity not to sign a lie, but to stand in truth with Your grace, and provide for every financial need according to Your riches in glory. Touch their body and bring healing and rest, calm their anxious thoughts, and renew their faith even as a small mustard seed. Remind them that You have not forsaken them and that You are working even when we cannot see. Help them to wait on You and to trust not in their own understanding, but to acknowledge You so that You will direct their paths. Proverbs 3:5-6. Let them know Your nearness and Your unfailing love which is new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23. We ask that You would lift this burden and turn what the enemy meant for harm for good, Romans 8:28, and that they would not grow weary in doing good, for in due season they will reap if they do not give up. Galatians 6:9. Sustain them, provide for them, and restore hope. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing this honestly before the Lord each day, to keep a written record of all amounts and communications regarding the rent, and to continue to seek a trustworthy advisor, even a legal aid clinic or a mature believer who can look at the paperwork with you before you sign anything, not because man is your ultimate hope, but because God often helps us through wise counsel. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2. We are praying that God will be that higher Rock for you and that He will show you He has not forgotten you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid nor be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9.

We hear how exhausted and cornered you feel right now. A year of praying about this back rent pressure with no relief, and now feeling you have to agree to an inflated amount and sign whatever is put in front of you just to make it stop, would wear anyone down. It makes sense that your health is feeling the strain and your faith feels gone after carrying this so long.

Chronic pressure like this, especially around housing and money, can affect both body and spirit over time. Alongside prayer, we would gently encourage you to let a doctor know how your health has been deteriorating so you can get care and support for that part too.

We also hear you saying no lawyer or church can help, and that signing feels like the only option left. Before you sign anything you feel pressured about, if you can, please have one more person review it with you who knows tenant and financial matters. It could be a local legal aid clinic, a housing counselor, or the agency that helped with your government aid, they often know where to find free help with budgets and paperwork and can look at whether the amount is accurate. You do not have to navigate the papers alone, even if it has felt that way, and having an advocate look with you can protect you from agreeing to more than you owe. If you already receive government aid, your caseworker may be able to point you to those resources quickly.

We are grateful you reached out for aid when you needed it. That was a wise and responsible step, not a failure.

We are praying for you.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift up this dear one who is tired and pressured. You see the rent situation and the papers in front of them. Give wisdom, protection, and a clear next step, and bring trustworthy help alongside them. Bring rest to their body and lift their heart, and remind them You are near even when faith feels empty. Amen.

Your words have been read with much prayer and with a deep sense of the weight you are carrying. To be pressed to pay what you believe is false, to feel you must sign what is put before you because no help can be found, to have prayed for a year and to see things grow worse, and to feel health failing and faith itself gone, is a very heavy trial. Thank you for speaking so plainly about it.

That feeling that faith is totally gone is itself a painful part of the trial, yet it does not mean you are forsaken. There is such a thing as little faith, and little faith is still true faith. It is not its littleness that is precious, but its faith. If it begins and ends with Jesus, if it looks to Him alone to save, it is the gift of God and it belongs to the family of the saved. Even faith as a grain of mustard seed is real faith, and Christ tenderly regards it. He does not despise the feeble and trembling hand that still would cling to Him.

You say you have prayed in Jesus name and the pressure has only increased. Scripture teaches us that perseverance is not given by the removal of temptation or of hard circumstances, but in the midst of them. The good work that God begins He will perform until the day of Christ, and that work is not kept alive by our strength but by His. The promise stands, they shall never perish, not because our hold is strong, but because His hold is sure. When we have little knowledge, small experience and tender faith, we are still kept, for the life Christ gives is immortal and He will not withdraw His gift.

Faith in such an hour does best without trying to prop itself up with false assurances, but by simply clinging to Christ and saying with holy boldness, I will not let You go except You bless me. Faith holds on to Christ. Faith believes Him, trusts Him, lives upon Him, and Christ is highly pleased with even a weak faith that still turns to Him. He is charmed when a sinner looks straight to Him and trusts Him. Nothing delights Him like a sinner believing in Him.

You mention that you will pay the inflated amount and sign any papers because no lawyer or church can help, and that you have had to seek government aid for other bills. To need help with provision is not to be forsaken or to be begging bread in the sense of being cast off by God. The Lord often provides through ordinary means, and to receive aid when in need is not a mark of failure of faith. At the same time, do not hastily sign what you believe to be untrue or to bind yourself to a false claim simply because the pressure feels absolute. Even when you feel alone, seek one more wise counsel before you put your name to anything, whether a trusted pastor, a legal aid clinic, a housing advice service or a Christian charity that serves those facing housing pressure. A brief review of what you are asked to sign may open a different way forward, and you should not face that decision without someone beside you who can read it carefully with you.

Your health deteriorating under this strain is also a matter for care. Please let a doctor and a trusted person in your life know how tired and worn you are, and how low your spirits have become. You do not need to carry this alone, even when it feels as though no one can help.

May the Lord keep alive in your heart that fear of God and trust in Christ which comes by hearing His Word. Be diligent, even in weariness, to hear a portion of Scripture each day, if only a few verses, and to bring your honest heart to Him in prayer, even if the prayer is only, Lord, help my unbelief. Faith comes by hearing, and holy fear and hope are kept alive by that same Word.

We will pray for you now, and we ask that others who know you will continue to pray and to walk with you.

O Lord Jesus Christ, look upon this weary one who feels pressed on every side and whose faith feels gone. You who love great faith and yet tenderly commend little faith, regard even the smallest turning of the heart toward You. Hold fast this soul, for Your promise is that none shall perish whom You have taken in hand. Give wisdom for every paper and payment set before them, provide honest counsel and needed provision, and guard health of body and mind. Renew a quiet trust, not in our own strength, but in Your finished work and Your power to keep to the end. In Your name we ask, Amen.

If pressure increases or you feel unsafe or unable to go on, please reach out at once to a pastor, a trusted friend or family member, your doctor, or a helpline in your area, and let someone near you know where you are. You are not forgotten, and we will continue to remember you before the Lord, asking Him to keep you and to make a way through this trial.
