We come before the throne of grace with you, standing in faith against the spiritual forces of darkness that seek to hinder God’s purposes in the earth. The Bible clearly warns us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). We take authority in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, at which every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11).
Father, we rebuke every principality and power that exalts itself against the knowledge of You. We bind their influence and command them to flee in Jesus’ name. We declare that the light of Your glory will break forth in every dark place, for You are the God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” and You have shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of Your glory in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6). We pray for Your unmatched, unstoppable glory to cover the earth as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).
We also lift up those in positions of authority and influence, whether in governments, institutions, or other spheres of life. We pray that You would grant them wisdom, discernment, and a fear of the Lord so that they may govern justly and uphold righteousness (Proverbs 9:10). May Your Spirit move upon the hearts of leaders, turning them toward truth and away from deception, for it is You who changes times and seasons, deposes kings, and establishes kings (Daniel 2:21).
Lord, we ask that You would expose every hidden work of darkness and bring it to light. Let no scheme of the enemy prosper, for You are the God who frustrates the signs of false prophets and turns back the wise in their craftiness (Isaiah 44:25). We declare that the gates of hell will not prevail against Your church (Matthew 16:18), and we stand firm in the armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and Your Word (Ephesians 6:13-17).
We also recognize that our battle is not won by human strength but by Your Spirit. Not by might nor by power, but by Your Spirit, says the Lord Almighty (Zechariah 4:6). So we yield ourselves to You, asking that You would fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit, empowering us to walk in victory and to be bold witnesses of Your truth.
Father, we thank You for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We thank You that He disarmed the powers and authorities, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15). We stand on this truth, declaring that no weapon formed against Your people will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your glory fill the earth, and let every knee bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
