Your prayer for favor and miracles and abounding glory has been read with thankfulness and we do stand with you in faith and prayer before the throne of grace.
We rejoice to hear such earnest desire for the Lord to show His hand, and we would point you to that which our gracious God loves most to give. The Scripture says, The Lord will give grace and glory, Psalm 84:11. It is His glory to give His grace and because of His graciousness He gives glory. True favor is not found in mere outward blessing but in free favor to sinners through Jesus Christ. Until we take the sinner's place, which is our right place, we do not stand where the free favor of God can deal with us. And the greatest miracle of all is the miracle of love, that in love to our souls He has delivered us from the pit of corruption and lifted our sins as none but Jehovah Jesus could lift them, bearing them upon His own shoulders.
You ask for glory, and rightly so, for glory belongs to God alone, yet the Scripture promises glory to His people. Think of glory for us who have deserved eternal shame. Glory for us poor creatures who are often ashamed of ourselves. Yet so it is written, and it must mean glory, for it never exaggerates. That glory is not the poor stuff which mortals dignify with that fair name, but a purified character, a perfected nature, a complete victory, nearness to God and closeness to the Divine heart, and union with Christ. It dawns on earth though it comes to its noontide in Heaven, and every holy action done unto the Lord for His glory shall receive a reward from Him.
You pray also against principalities and powers of darkness in high places, and here is solid comfort. The Man Christ Jesus died, was buried and rose again and ascended into glory, and now He is Head over all principalities and powers, and all the holy angels delight to do His bidding. The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms, Deuteronomy 33:27. There is Divine work always going on before His people. His shield goes in front, His sword cuts and clears the way, and we have but to follow where He leads. He will thrust out our enemies before us, and He also gives a Divine command to us, to be obedient to His Word and to turn from sin and cleave to Christ.
Let us pray together.
O Father of all grace, we thank You that You are a generous Lawgiver and a God who delights to give good gifts to Your children. We bless You for the miracle of Divine love which brought our Lord Jesus from the dead to bring us up from death in sin. Grant to this dear soul the present privilege of Your favor, perfect pardon sealed home by the Holy Spirit, freedom from bondage, and full handed liberty to the praise of the glory of Your grace. Give grace in abounding measure, and in Your time give glory, even the glory of Christ which You have promised to share with all who are in Him. Let Your glory be seen not as the glory of man but as Your own glory filling the earth. And by Your everlasting arms thrust out the powers of darkness, and keep this one walking in holiness and obedience, looking to Jesus. All this we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, with thanksgiving. Amen.
