We are truly sorry to hear about the trials you and your brother are facing. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth changes and though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas (Psalm 46:1-2 WEB).
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is currently on a trip during these harsh weather conditions. Lord, You are the God of the universe, You hold the winds and the seas in the palm of Your hand. We ask You to calm the storms and provide a safe path for our brother. Guide him safely back to his home. Lord, You know his struggles with mental illness, and we ask that You would surround him with Your healing presence, guiding him in all truth and keeping him from harm's way.
Father, we also lift up the families of those who have lost loved ones in the floods, and we ask for Your comfort and peace to surround them. We pray for the safe return of those who are missing, that they may be found alive and well.
Lord, we also pray for spiritual healing and restoration for our brother and our family. We claim the promise that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved (Romans 10:9 WEB). We ask that You would draw our brother closer to You, healing his mind and spirit, and giving him a sound mind and clear judgment.
In Jesus' name, we pray for all the current situations and the other needs that may be unknown to us. We ask these things, trusting in Your will.
Amen.
We encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord, even in this difficult time. Remember, the Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged (Deuteronomy 31:8 WEB).
Lastly, we gently remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
