Praying to work toward goals

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I would like to come out of survival mode. I have been in that state for years due to my circumstances, and I pray to tread forward to pursue dreams and vision. I do feel at times I have procrastinated because of this too, and others have hindered my progress.

We hear your heart’s cry, dear one, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burdens to the Lord who sees and knows all. Survival mode is a heavy weight to carry, and we understand how it can feel like a chain that keeps you from stepping into the fullness of God’s purpose for your life. But we declare with certainty that this is not where your story ends. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). He is the God who brings beauty from ashes and turns mourning into dancing (Isaiah 61:3). You are not meant to merely survive—you are called to thrive in Christ, to walk in the vision He has placed within you.

We must address the hindrances you’ve mentioned, both internal and external. Procrastination can often be a symptom of deeper struggles—fear of failure, feelings of unworthiness, or even the enemy’s whispers that you are not capable. But Scripture tells us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23). The Lord has equipped you for the work He has called you to, and every step of obedience, no matter how small, is a victory. Do not despise the day of small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10). Even if progress feels slow, trust that God is at work in the unseen places of your heart and circumstances.

As for those who have hindered your progress, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and opposition in Jesus’ name. The enemy would love nothing more than to use people or circumstances to derail you from God’s plan, but we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). If these hindrances are from people, we encourage you to seek godly wisdom in how to respond. Sometimes, boundaries are necessary to protect the vision God has given you. Other times, forgiveness and prayer for those who have wronged you will set *you* free. Remember, *"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone"* (Romans 12:18). But never allow the actions of others to dictate your obedience to God.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is weary of survival mode and longing to step into the dreams and vision You have placed in their heart. Lord, You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way. You are the lifter of our heads, the restorer of our souls, and the One who turns our mourning into dancing. We ask that You would break every chain of fear, procrastination, and discouragement that has kept them bound. Give them a fresh revelation of Your love and Your power at work within them.

Father, we ask that You would ignite a fire in their spirit—a holy passion to pursue the goals and dreams You have given them. Help them to see themselves as You see them: capable, anointed, and called for such a time as this. When the enemy whispers lies of inadequacy or failure, let them stand firm on Your Word, which says, *"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13). Give them the discipline to take one step at a time, trusting that You will order their steps (Proverbs 16:9).

Lord, we also ask that You would deal with the hindrances that have come against them. If there are people or circumstances that have been used by the enemy to delay their progress, we ask that You would either remove those obstacles or give them the wisdom and strength to overcome them. Let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with godly encouragement—people who will speak life into them and help them stay accountable to the vision You’ve given.

Father, we pray that You would open doors of opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Provide the resources, the connections, and the favor they need to move forward. Let them not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, they *will* reap a harvest if they do not give up (Galatians 6:9). And when they stumble or feel like giving in to procrastination, remind them of Your grace and mercy. Help them to rise again, stronger and more determined, knowing that Your strength is made perfect in their weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We declare over them today that they are stepping out of survival mode and into the abundant life You have promised. They are moving from fear to faith, from stagnation to purpose, and from merely existing to truly living for Your glory. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. Thank You for hearing our prayer and for answering according to Your perfect will. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We want to encourage you to take one practical step today toward the vision God has given you. It doesn’t have to be a giant leap—just a small, faithful step. Write down one goal, no matter how small, and ask the Lord for the strength to pursue it. Then, share it with someone you trust who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Remember, *"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established"* (Proverbs 16:3). You are not alone in this journey. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing forward—your breakthrough is coming!

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when life feels like it's on survival mode, and it's easy to get stuck in that cycle. But remember, God didn't create us to just scrape by; He wants us to thrive and live abundantly (John 10:10).

Let's tackle those hindrances together. Sometimes, it's not just external circumstances, but also our own thoughts and attitudes that hold us back. We need to speak life to ourselves, too. Instead of saying, "I'll do it later," try saying, "I'll do the next step now." Baby steps are still steps forward.

And those who have hindered your progress? We can't change them, but we can change how we respond. Instead of letting them dictate our actions, let's choose to keep moving forward in obedience to God. As it says in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone."

Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our friend who desires to step out of survival mode and into the dreams and visions You've placed in their heart. Lord, You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way. We ask that You would give them the strength to take one step at a time, trusting in Your power and provision. Help them to see themselves as You see them - capable, anointed, and called for such a time as this. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let's take that practical step together. What's one small goal you can commit to today? Share it with us, and let's hold each other accountable. We're in this together, and we believe in you! Keep moving forward, one step at a time. You've got this!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

It is a blessing to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to open doors of opportunity, renew your vision, and give you the courage to pursue the dreams He has placed in your heart. We’ve been praying that He would break the chains of procrastination, silence the voices of discouragement, and remove every hindrance standing in your way.

As you continue to press forward, we encourage you to keep seeking the Lord’s wisdom and timing. If the journey still feels heavy or uncertain, know that we are here to keep praying with you. You are not alone, and we believe God is working even when the path isn’t yet clear.

May He fill you with His peace, strengthen your resolve, and remind you daily of His promises. We continue to stand in agreement with you, trusting that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
