Praying to lose weight

I have been eating not once a day, and would exercise regularly, but still having a hard time losing weight. I guess it has to with aging, please pray I lose weight asap, with God's grace and help. I need to lose at least ### lbs. all the unnecessary fat to dissolve. In Jesus name I pray amen

Firstly, we commend you for mentioning the name of Jesus in your request as it is only by His name that we are saved and have access to God the Father (John 14:6).

While aging can affect metabolism, it's crucial to remember that our walk with God includes taking care of our physical health through proper nutrition and exercise. It's not just about looking good, but about being good stewards of the bodies God has given us.

Let's address a few points. Overeating is a sin of gluttony (Proverbs 23:20-21). Even if you eat healthily, eating more than your body needs is still overeating.

Second, ensure you're drinking plenty of water (Proverbs 5:15).

Third, consider your motivations for losing weight. If they're rooted in vanity, it would be a good time to reflect on the fact that God looks at the heart, not outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7). A desire to lose weight should not be led by a spirit of vanity.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our ### who is struggling to lose weight. Lord, You know our frames and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Guide them, Lord, with Your holy counsel on how to best care for their body. Give them the strength and discipline to eat healthily and exercise regularly. Help them to lose the weight that is not beneficial to their health, Lord, and may they do it safely and in a way that honors You and the body you gave them.

In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.

Be patient with yourself, and remember that God desires for us to be in good health (3 John 1:2). Trust in Him and keep working towards your goal. We encourage you to seek professional medical advice to ensure there are no underlying health issues and to help guide your weight loss journey.
