Praying to forget the past

Dear God,

Help me to forget the past and I pray You transform my mind toward better thinking and mindset

Restore my mind and help Me to be strong in the Lord and walk in the power of His might

Take me out of the snare of the enemy's scheme over my life

Grant me victory over the darkness that attempted to place a false narrative before my mind and eyes which came in via the destructive act of Jezebel spirit

I pray You send confusion to the enemy and cause the enemy to lose interest and flee 7 ways according to Deuteronomy 28:7

Blind all envious eyes or those looking at me and my blessings in a ungodly way in Jesus' name

I apply the blood of Jesus against any destructive actions and ungodly words spoken over me and my family by the Jezebel spirit In Jesus' name

I cancel and nullify with the blood of Jesus any word curses or ungodly prayers spoken by the Jezebel spirit in Jesus' name

Lord deliver me from my enemy and cause them to flee

I stand on Psalm 17:8, "Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings", in Jesus' name

I pray against hurt endured from the wound of the destruction aimed at my identity, foundations and legacy

Lord heal and restore me and bring me in peace in Jesus' name

Thank You Lord for Your protection and that You making things better in Jesus' wonderful name!

We join with you in this prayer to forget what is behind and to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and we stand with you for healing and victory in Jesus' name.

We hear your cry to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and to be delivered from the snare of the enemy, and we agree that God is able to restore your mind and bring you into peace. The Word tells us Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2 and also Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal Philippians 3:13-14. Forgetting the past in a biblical sense does not mean pretending painful things never happened, but no longer being held captive by them, allowing the Lord to heal the wound and to redeem your identity and foundations. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and reminds us Do not remember the former things, and do not consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing Isaiah 43:18-19. We pray you will learn to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure Philippians 4:8.

We also understand your concern about darkness, false narratives, and what you describe as the destructive work of the Jezebel spirit. Scripture does warn about the influence of Jezebel in Revelation 2:20 and calls us to be sober and watchful because your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion 1 Peter 5:8, yet we are also reminded that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities and powers Ephesians 6:12, and the way to victory is not through formulas but through submission to God, standing firm in faith, clothed in the full armor of God. We are told Be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:10-11 and Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. The blood of Jesus is precious because without shedding of blood there is no remission Hebrews 9:22 and we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins Ephesians 1:7, and it is that finished work on the cross that secures our deliverance, not the repeating of phrases as an incantation, but faith in what Christ has already accomplished and our walking in obedience to Him.

We gently encourage you regarding prayers about blinding eyes or sending confusion upon enemies. The Lord does promise that when we walk in obedience, The Lord will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways Deuteronomy 28:7, and we do pray for your protection as one who is kept as the apple of his eye and hidden in the shadow of his wings Psalm 17:8 and as one who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Psalm 91:1. At the same time we are called to not avenge ourselves but to give place to God's wrath Romans 12:19 and to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you Matthew 5:44, trusting the Lord to vindicate and to cause any ungodly words or curses spoken over you and your family to fall powerless, for no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17 and The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it John 1:5.

We rebuke the lies and false narratives that have attempted to wound your identity and legacy, and we declare that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away 2 Corinthians 5:17 and that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. Lord, we lift this dear one to You and ask You to transform and renew the mind, to heal the hurt endured from wounds aimed at identity, foundations and legacy, and to restore perfect peace to those whose mind is stayed on You Isaiah 26:3. Take Your child out of every snare of the enemy, break every scheme and false narrative, and let Your light expose and scatter all darkness. We ask that You guard this life and family as the apple of Your eye and hide them in the shadow of Your wings, and let no word curse or ungodly prayer have any hold, for Christ has redeemed us from the curse. Cause the enemy to flee seven ways as Your child submits to You and resists the devil, and let Your victory be manifest. Fill this heart with strength in the Lord, with faith, hope and a sound mind, and make all things new. We thank You for Your protection and for Your promise to work all things for good to those who love You Romans 8:28. We trust You to bring healing, restoration and peace, in the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We hear how deeply you want to be free from what has hurt you and to have a clear, peaceful mind again. Thank you for sharing such an honest prayer with us. Your desire for strength in the Lord, for healing of your identity and foundations, and for peace in your home is so understandable after carrying this weight.

Forgetting the past does not always mean the memories disappear, but God can gently loosen their hold so they no longer define you. As you walk with Him, He renews how you see yourself and quiets the false stories that have tried to settle over you. That renewal is usually a process, not a single moment, and He is patient with you in it.

One thing that often helps when thoughts feel crowded or under attack is not to carry them alone. We encourage you to invite one trusted, steady pastor or mature believer to walk with you regularly, someone who knows your story and can pray with you and remind you of what is true when the old narratives get loud.

We are standing with you for protection, healing, and a restored sense of who you are in Christ.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. Cover them under Your wings and guard their mind and heart with Your peace. Heal the wounds to their identity and foundations and restore what has felt broken. Make them strong in You and lead them step by step into wholeness and rest. We ask for Your wisdom, Your nearness, and Your keeping power over them and their family. Amen.

Your prayer for a renewed mind and for deliverance has been brought before the Lord, and we join our hearts with yours in seeking His grace.

There is a gracious work which God alone can do in the soul that longs to forget what lies behind and to walk anew. To forget the past in the scriptural sense is not to erase memory by our own effort, but to be so renewed in the spirit of our mind that we press forward toward Christ. This is the sealing of the Spirit spoken of in Ephesians, by which He makes us partakers of the Divine life. That life has a renewing power so that we reject the course of this world and no longer fulfill the desires of the flesh and of the mind. It is not a confidence of our own making, but a real work of the Spirit grasping with living tendrils the promise of the living God. As you have prayed to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, remember that the Word is the sword of the Spirit, of His own making, and He will teach you to take it up and to wield it against every false narrative and every darkness that would hide from your mind what you ought to see.

We rejoice that deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. You are not left to fight this battle in the flesh, for where we look for justification there must we also look for sanctification. Colossians tells us that the Father has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. The prisoner ready to go down to the pit hears the King's own voice crying, Deliver him, for I have found a ransom. That ransom is the blood of Jesus Christ, His wounds still bearing witness in glory that a full atonement has been made. His wounds are healed wounds, and this is precious to the troubled child of God, for He will not discard you. Though the Lord has chastened sorely, He has not given His people over unto death, and the believer may yet say, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

Let us pray with you.

O Lord our God, we thank You that You are the Refiner who sits by the furnace and that no affliction springs from the dust apart from Your wise and fatherly hand. We ask You to transform this Your child by the renewing of the mind, to restore what has been wounded, and to heal the hurt aimed at identity and foundations and legacy. Wash the mind with Your truth, and cause the light of Your Spirit to scatter every false narrative that has clouded the eyes.

We plead the ransom found in Christ Jesus. Apply the virtue of His shed blood to every accusation, every destructive word, and every scheme of the enemy. Deliver from the snare and from going down to the pit. Deliver from the power of sin and Satan, for You alone can save from self, from sin, and from the adversary. Cause those who rise up without cause to flee before You as You have promised, that when enemies come one way they shall flee seven ways before Your presence.

Keep this soul as the apple of Your eye and hide it in the shadow of Your wings according to Psalm 17. Blind the envious eye and stay the ungodly gaze, and let Your protection be a covering. Grant victory not by fleshly striving but by Your Spirit, that this life may be kept from perishing by the sword and may go free rejoicing in the liberty You have given. Teach the hands to take up the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word, to hear Your whisper in the conscience and to walk in the power of Your might.

We ask that You would bring peace, restore foundations, and establish this life upon Christ the sure rock, to live and to declare Your works. In the wonderful name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour and Advocate, Amen.
