praying my daughter won't be let down or upset with me

Tachick

Faithful Servant
Please say a prayer asking God that if it is His will my daughter won't be let down or angry with me. I ask in the name of Jesus. Thank you and God bless you. ###.

We join you in bringing this burden before our heavenly Father and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and hope of being heard. As it is written John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are grateful you have come in that precious name.

We understand your love for your daughter and your desire not to see her hurt or angry with you. The Lord cares deeply about the relationship between parents and children and He calls us to love each other with gentleness and humility. We are reminded in Ephesians 6:4 You fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. And Colossians 3:21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they will not be discouraged. Also Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

We know disappointment is painful, but God is near to comfort both you and your daughter and to work even through difficult moments for good. We take comfort in 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Psalm 34:18 reminds us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We pray together with you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and lift up this parent and his dear daughter to You. Lord, if it is Your will, we ask that You would guard her heart from deep disappointment and from anger toward her father. Soften any hurt, grant understanding, and fill her with Your peace. Help this parent to walk in humility, honesty and love, to speak with gentleness and to listen well. If there has been any failure or misunderstanding, give the grace to humbly ask forgiveness and to show Christlike love. We ask that You would strengthen the bond between them, protect their relationship, and let Your will be done above all. May Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard both of their hearts. We trust this situation into Your hands, knowing You love this daughter even more than her parent does. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to entrust your daughter to the Lord and to keep the lines of communication open with her. Seek to talk with her openly and tenderly, listen to her heart, and reassure her of your love. If there is something you have promised or something she is hoping for, be honest and prayerful about what is possible, and point her to the Lord as our ultimate hope who never disappoints. Continue to pray together and trust that God is able to bring peace and reconciliation according to His perfect will.

We hear how much your daughter matters to you, and how much you want to honor her and the Lord in this. Wanting not to let her down or make her angry is a loving concern, and it makes sense that it would weigh on your heart.

Sometimes that worry can make it harder to talk openly. What has helped many parents in a similar spot is to keep the focus on honesty and care rather than on trying to guarantee how the other person will feel. You can love her well and trust God with her response, even when you cannot control it.

One simple step that may ease some of this pressure is to plan a calm, brief conversation with her before anything is decided. You could share clearly what you are hoping to do and why, listen to how she hears it, and give her space to share what she is feeling without needing to fix it right away. That kind of openness often protects the relationship more than trying to prevent any disappointment.

We are praying with you and for both of you.

Father, we lift this parent and daughter to You. You know the love behind this prayer and the desire to do what is right before You. Grant peace where there is anxiety, wisdom in words and timing, and grace for both hearts to hear each other well. We trust this relationship to Your care and ask for Your will to be done, in Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and carried to the throne of grace, and we join our hearts with yours before the Lord.

There is a tenderness in your desire not to let your daughter be let down or to stir her anger, and it is good to bring such affection and concern to Him with whom there is forgiveness. The Scripture declares, There is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared, and that forgiveness is divine, surprising and complete. I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is not a partial pardon, but a full forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone, by whose blood we have redemption, and it is a continuous and eternal forgiveness which He bestows upon all who come to Him with penitent hearts, believing in Him.

If you tremble for fear of having grieved your child, remember that earthly parents are to pass over faults as our heavenly Father passes over ours, and we are called to a joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as Christ forgave us. Revenge is paltry, but forgiveness is great minded, and it is gloriously ennobling to imitate our Lord in this.

Let us pray together.

O gracious Father, with whom there is forgiveness, we come through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our only Savior, and ask Thy mercy upon this parent and this daughter. If it be Thy will, keep this dear daughter from being let down and from anger, and knit their hearts together in peace and in truth. Grant to this parent a humble and gentle spirit, and to the daughter a tender and forgiving heart, that each may forgive as Christ has forgiven. Where there has been any fault or failing, bring confession and bring healing, and let Thy will be done in their relationship. Continually forgive us our debts as we forgive one another, and let Thy love rule in this home. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.

May the Lord grant you wisdom to walk in love, to speak the truth in meekness, and to trust Him with the heart of your child, for He is able to keep and to restore.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this burden and for asking for prayer in the name of Jesus. It is good that you desire peace with your daughter and that you want to entrust the outcome to God's will.

I join you in prayer that the Lord, who is gracious and merciful, would guard your relationship from needless hurt and anger, and would work reconciliation where there has been pain. I pray that if it is His will, He would soften both hearts, calm any disappointment, and keep your daughter from being let down or holding anger toward you, and that He would give you both grace to speak and to listen with love and humility.

Scripture teaches us that love seeks peace and that when there is hurt, the one who is well should go to the one who is hurting to seek healing in a gentle and private way. If there is anything you have done that has contributed to the distance, I encourage you to go to her humbly, tell her plainly what has happened, ask for forgiveness where it is needed, and listen well to her heart. Anger is a heavy burden, and God has given us grace not to use it against one another but to turn from sin and to pursue what makes for peace.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son who alone saves us from our sins, I bring this parent and daughter before You. You know their hearts and their needs. If it is Your will, keep this daughter from being let down and from anger, and keep this parent from causing hurt. Grant them both a spirit of understanding, patience, and forgiveness. Help this parent to walk wisely and to speak with kindness and truth, and help this daughter to have a heart ready to forgive as You have forgiven us. Do what is best for them according to Your perfect will, and draw them closer to each other and most of all to You. Amen.

May the Lord give you wisdom as you walk forward, and may He grant you peace as you trust Him with this relationship.

Your heart for your daughter comes through clearly in this request, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord.

It is painful to feel that you might disappoint or cause anger in someone you love so deeply. Scripture shows us both how destructive anger can be and how beautiful reconciliation is when God works in hearts. On one hand, we see how fierce and cruel anger can become. When Jacob's sons acted in fierce anger to avenge their sister, the result was bloodshed and destruction, and years later their father still rebuked that anger as cursed because it was so uncontrolled. It divided and scattered them. Anger left unchecked poisons relationships and brings lasting harm.

On the other hand, we see how God can soften hearts and turn anger aside. When Jacob met his brother after years of estrangement and fear, God had so worked that the anger was eased. Instead of bitterness and accusation, there was forgiveness and love, as they embraced and wept together. In another place we see how a humble and gentle answer turned away the anger of others. Humility and gentleness can defuse wrath where harshness would increase it.

As a parent, your desire to not let your daughter down reflects God's own heart as a Father. Scripture compares His care for His people to a parent's care for a child. A loving parent may be grieved by a child's choices and may need to correct, but still guards that child and does not want others to harm them. You are as the apple of His eye to Him, and He sees your concern for your daughter as well.

I encourage you to continue to entrust this relationship to the Lord while also walking in humility and love. If there is anything you need to make right, go to her honestly and gently and ask forgiveness. Speak with a soft answer that seeks peace rather than defending yourself. Continue to bring her up and encourage her in the nurture and instruction of the Lord, showing through your words and actions that you value her and want what is best for her. And then rest the outcome in God's hands, trusting His will and His timing to work in both of your hearts.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this parent and daughter before You. You know the love that is here and the fear of causing hurt or anger. I ask that if it is Your will, You would guard this relationship from disappointment and bitterness. Soften any hurt, ease any anger, and lead both toward forgiveness, understanding and love. Give wisdom to speak with humility and grace, and help each heart to hear the other with patience. Where there has been failure, bring repentance and forgiveness, and where there is love, deepen it. Let Your peace rule in this home, and let both be drawn closer to You and to each other. We trust this into Your good and perfect will, in Jesus name, Amen.
