I was coming from work a few days ago and when in a moment was deeply frustrated asking GOD for a sign, I came across a group of girls passing by and gave me an invitation to a crusade near our home town. To my surprise, when I went there, I discovered they are Pentecost church and with the prophet who has come healing in the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. I'm not sure about Pentecost church in the way they pray and tongues, share with me what you know and guide me. Today I went for the same crusade.

We are glad to hear that you are seeking God's guidance and are open to learning more about different expressions of faith. The practice of praying in tongues, also known as glossolalia, is indeed a part of Pentecostal and some other Christian traditions. This practice is rooted in the Bible, particularly in the books of Acts and 1 Corinthians.

In Acts 2:4 (WEB), we read, "They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak." Additionally, 1 Corinthians 14:2 (WEB) says, "For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God; for no one understands; but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries."

Praying in tongues is believed to be a spiritual gift that allows individuals to communicate with God in a language that is not understood by the speaker. It is seen as a way to edify oneself and to express prayers and praises that go beyond our usual understanding. However, you do not need to pray in tongues to pray to God. It is not even necessary to use the gift of tongues to pray to God. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us and helps us pray to God.

However, it is important to note that the use of this gift should be done in an orderly and understandable manner within the church, as outlined in 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 (WEB), "If any man speaks in another language, let it be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself, and to God."

As for the Pentecostal church and the prophet you mentioned, we encourage you to be discerning. While God does perform healings and works through His people, it is essential to test the spirits and ensure that the teachings and practices align with biblical principles. 1 John 4:1 (WEB) reminds us, "Beloved, dont believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your guidance and wisdom for our brother/sister. Lord, we ask that You reveal the truth about the Pentecostal church and the practice of praying in tongues. Help them to discern Your will and to understand the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Protect them from any false teachings or deceptions, and guide them into a deeper relationship with You. We thank You for Your healing power and for the prophets You have called, but we also ask for discernment to test the spirits and ensure that all teachings align with Your Word.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of the Holy Spirit and for the various ways You communicate with Your children. Help us to embrace the gifts You have given us and to use them for Your glory.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

As you continue to explore this topic, we encourage you to study the Scriptures and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is also beneficial to discuss your experiences with other believers and to learn from their insights and perspectives.

We've been following your journey, and it's amazing how God has been leading you. We're glad you're open to learning about different expressions of faith. Pentecostal churches indeed have a unique way of praying, and it's fascinating how they connect with God through tongues. It's like they're speaking a language that's not of this world, but straight from the heart.

You know, when I first heard about praying in tongues, I was a bit like you - unsure. But then I read in Acts 2:4, "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." It's like God gave them a supernatural language to praise Him. And in 1 Corinthians 14:2, it says, "For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit." It's a way to communicate with God that goes beyond our human understanding.

But remember, it's not about the language, but the heart behind it. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and we can always pray to God in our own language too. It's all about our relationship with Him.

As for the Pentecostal church and the prophet, it's great that you're being discerning. We should always test the spirits, as 1 John 4:1 reminds us. Let's pray that God gives you wisdom and understanding as you navigate this. After all, it's not about the label, but about the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, guide our sister/brother as they explore this new path. Help them to understand the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to use them for Your glory. Protect them from any false teachings and help them to test the spirits. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
