Praying for those who need strength in their pursuits

Dear God,

You see what Your people need in their situations they are confronted with, and You know what happens next for them, I pray You lift Your people up and strengthen them for any battle the enemy would try to throw their way in Jesus' name

Restore them out of any form of hinderances in Jesus' name

Grant them victory in their way and change any negative turn into a lesson, but also wisdom so they can learn from their mistakes in Jesus' name

Build their confidence and help them not settle for less than in Jesus' name

Create in them a clean heart, Oh God, renew a steadfast spirit within them as it is written in Psalm 51:10 in Jesus' name

Rebuild what the enemy tried to tear down and establish their ways in Jesus' name

I pray they build their foundations on Christ the rock, not on worldly desires or fleshly tastes in Jesus' name

Thank You Lord for answered prayer in Jesus' mighty name.

We join with you in this beautiful and selfless intercession and we thank you for standing in the gap for those who need strength in their pursuits. Your heart to see God's people lifted up, strengthened for battle, and established on the firm foundation of Christ is pleasing to the Lord and we agree with you together in Jesus' name.

We are reminded that true strength does not come from our own resolve but from the Lord Himself. He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength, Isaiah 40:29. When the enemy seeks to hinder, discourage, or tear down, we can be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might, putting on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:10-11. Our confidence is not in ourselves but in Christ, for we know that his grace is sufficient for us, for power is made perfect in weakness, 2 Corinthians 12:9, and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Philippians 4:13.

We love that you prayed Psalm 51:10, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. That is the foundation of all godly pursuits, a clean heart and a steadfast spirit that seeks first His kingdom. When our pursuits are built on Christ the rock, they will stand, for everyone who hears his words and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock, Matthew 7:24. But if we build on worldly desires or fleshly tastes, that foundation will not endure. We also take comfort that God can turn every setback into wisdom and growth, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, Romans 8:28.

We pray together now for all those you have lifted up.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up every person who is weary and in need of strength for the pursuits You have set before them. You see each situation they are confronted with and You know what lies ahead. We ask that You lift them up and renew their strength, that they would mount up with wings like eagles, that they would run and not be weary, Isaiah 40:31. Grant them victory not for their own glory but for Yours, and turn every negative turn and every mistake into a lesson that produces wisdom and maturity in them. Restore what the enemy has tried to tear down and hinder, and establish their steps. Create in each of them a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within them. Your prayer on behalf of others is a gracious work, and it is good that you have brought it before the Lord who sees what His people need and knows what lies before them.

You have prayed rightly from Psalm 51, Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. This is the very prayer of David when his sin had been set before him. We cannot make ourselves clean. As has been well said, the watchmaker best cleans the watch that he made. My Creator, I am spoiled, come and make me over again. My heart has grown foul. You who did make me, clean me. It is God alone who must create anew, who must purge with hyssop that we shall be clean, and wash us that we shall be whiter than snow. A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Where there is that sincerely earnest desire after salvation, where the soul no longer treats eternal things with indifference but longs to be saved and has faith in Jesus Christ, though it be yet small and not bringing great joy and peace, there is the beginning of the growth of piety in the heart.

You ask for strength for the battle and for victory in the way. Remember that the glory of our strength lies not in ourselves, nor in worldly desires or fleshly tastes, but in God alone. Where the life of God is in the heart, there is strength given to overcome the flesh, and Divine Grace is more than a match for it. The glory of our strength is spiritual and lies in the Holy Spirit Himself, who is in us if we are truly the Lord's. He is our rock, and you have prayed well that foundations may be built on Christ the rock. The soil of the heart is broken in pieces in the Presence of the Most High, then comes the sowing, and the prayer of the Church is as a harrow to rake in the seed after it is scattered, that it may be hidden in the heart of the hearer and bring forth fruit with God's blessing.

So let us pray together that the Lord would indeed lift up His people and strengthen them, not for the pursuit of their own will, but for that which is according to His will. That He would turn what has been meant for evil into a lesson, and grant wisdom to learn from mistakes, with true repentance after conversion. That He would rebuild what the enemy has torn down, and establish their ways in holiness, giving confidence not in the flesh but in Christ, who has won the victory. Let those who are cast down take heart, for the God who rescued David can rescue them. Let them turn not to themselves nor to their own good works, but to God alone through Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation, and sit down at Jesus feet and sing the victory which He alone has won.

May the Lord hear this cry, create clean hearts, renew steadfast spirits within His people, and keep them walking in His way, trusting in the Lord with all their heart and leaning not to their own understanding, till every sepulcher of the saints shall be a monument of the victory of faith.

We join you in this prayer and say amen to what you have asked. God does see what His people need and He hears the heart that cries out to Him, even when the voice is not heard by others, as Hannah prayed and as Abel's blood cried out, and He answers those who come to Him with earnestness.

We pray with you that the Lord will strengthen His people for every battle and give confidence that is rooted in Christ and not in themselves. Scripture shows that hindrances cannot stop the work of God. Even ignorance, bonds, and opposition did not hinder the apostles but God used those very things to make His power known and to make His people more bold. So we ask that whatever hindrances now stand in the way would be removed, and that where they remain, God would use them to show His strength and to build a more steadfast faith.

We pray for true victory, which is the victory of the cross. Christ has already removed the greatest hindrances and made His victory glorious, and He gives peace to His people in the midst of war and joy in place of sorrow. We ask not for victory as the world counts it, but for the profit that comes through endurance, self control, and trust in Him, and for wisdom to learn from mistakes and to turn from them.

We agree with your prayer from Psalm 51:10, that God would create in us a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Sin defiles from within the heart, and that defilement is not washed away as mud with water, but needs repentance, tears, and the cleansing work of God. We pray that He would wash the heart and make it pure, for the pure in heart shall see God, and that He would rebuild what has been torn down and establish our steps.

We ask that He would build our foundations on Christ the rock and not on worldly desires or the tastes of the flesh, so that our lives may stand firm.
